We have seen some issues.

Can anybody confirm that they are getting permies emails with a hotmail or msn account?

Cheryl,

Is it possible that the dailyishes going to you are ending up in a spam filter?

I use hotmail (and have for over 20 years) and receive permies emails such as forum post notifications, like notifications, apple notifications, bb certification approvals, moosage notifications, and dailyish emails such as the one I received today at 11:40AM.  Is the dailyish email content also posted to the forums - like to the dailyish forum?  That way I could verify that I receive all of them, can read them without checking mail, etc.

I get my e-mails on MSN. It's a bit weird some come through on Edge since I changed over a few months ago but my MSN butterfly seems to pick up some that don't show on Edge. I changed my e-mail to a Proton acct.

We have implemented a new way to process emails in the event of a server problem.  We immediately discovered a problem with any email sent to a hotmail or msn account.  We tracked it down to hotmail and msn would block all emails from this new thing.  We put a fuckton of work into filling out all their forms and shit and ....   in the end, they simply said "no."

Currently, if anybody has contacted me via hotmail or msn, I would write a reply and my email to them never gets there.  We have tried to fix this too, only to have hotmail and msn say "no."

So, for all of you that have hotmail and msn (and anything that microsoft touches), those guys have decided that there is a lot of valid email out there that you simply do not get.

If you want to be an instructor here, sorry, your email provided has decided for you that you are not allowed to exchange emails with me.

If you want to be on the staff of permies.com, your email provider has decided for you "no."

There might be hundreds of valid emails per year that you will never get because your email provider has errantly decided "no."

My current email provider is okay, but once in a while I think about moving to protonmail.  For all of you with hotmail, msn or anything microsoft, you might wanna take a look at gmail or https://protonmail.com/

Well, I know which threads I have commented on, and I get emails for those, although there is a delay. And I get emails when I have a PM. I agree there could be emails that I'm missing but I'm not sure what they would be about.

If there is a delay, then they are definitely filtering the emails.

I've spent about 40 hours on the phone with my email provider over the last 3 years trying to get them to let my emails through.  Most email providers have a system that runs checks on the email to see if it matches their criteria for letting it through.  If one thing isn't perfect, they run the thing through their next checker... and so on for a delay of up to 2 hours.  This filters out the emails before it even gets to our mailbox so that what the system believes is spam doesn't even show up in our spam folders.  The server doesn't store the "bad" emails either.

There is no way to know what emails didn't make it through unless you can compare the sent with the received.

The big problem is the naughty list is AI-generated and AIs are easily influenced by user misbehaviour.

I don't know if you have an amazon account, but you might have noticed that last January they started giving us access to the sent box.  That way we can see what emails they sent.  That's because they made the naughty list thanks to a few users getting together to influence the AI and all amazon emails were blocked by many email servers for almost a month.  Some are still having trouble getting through.

We invited new staff.

Some people we did not invite, because they are using microsoft emails.

Some people we did invite, but we never heard back from - probably because microsoft touched their email.

please buy my thing and then I'll have more money:
