The view for my entire day. It had been a little while since I'd been in the constructo-tank. It's got a new quirk or two but we figured it out and got it done.

It's not ice even tho it looks like it, not get anyway. We've got at least one warm rain around here before the solid state sets in.

Go with the flow that only you know, and consider the rest as sketchy at best. Far be it from me to try and turn moss into a tree - for moss has a beauty same as carpet has a duty. Call me Apple, I require a minimum number of chill hours to be fruitful and crush.
Seemed like a good day to go play in the woods and so did the cooper cats.

Here's to laying concerns about the overflow working to rest.

Monocrystal panels don't generate enough power to turn the well pump when it's overcast. We had some sun for the first half of the day tho.

And then the snow shower appeared in the distance.

A break from hiking around in cooper while the snow was coming in heavy.

Not much accumulation but enough indicate there will be more where that came from in the near future.

Grey and I building a simple wood rack to go inside cooper cabin on the RMH mass. We whipped this one up in a hurry - just two boxes and four posts tho.

I think I was getting a chainsaw back in order when G and S were sharpening and cleaning tools.. whoever did this one got the edge but missed the point..lol

After a little trackhoe sled ride down the hill (the one to the left that cant be seen) and squeezing between a couple trees, we managed to back fill the remaining stretch of waterline.

A look outside the shop this morning as our first snow to 'stick' was coming in thick.

Another super basic but resource constrained build. Stephen started it and I finished it up.

Something built good enough for the job and done quick is a quality job, sometimes.

I like power tools until there's a hand tool that's better for the job - then I like hand tools better.

We all got a little bit of a workout today moving dirt the old fashioned way, in the snow. I only slipped and busted my tail 3 times - I gotta get some studded boot treads..

Heading down hill with the snow rolling like a wave off the rear blade. A much better start than I remember from last winter.
IMG_20221109_163854.jpg
Seems like we were caught a little unprepared for this much snow this early. I felt the urgency to stay ahead of it and use the time moving as much snow as possible.

Some of the whopping tomatoes that refused to vine ripen before the hard freezes rolled in. I'm happy to see they're managing to get some color after all.

It was Stephen's turn to shove some snow around this morning.

Seems the weather caught this hardy flower off guard a little as well.

I wanted to see how the red cabin RMH would start this morning. 37 inside and 16 outside is a pretty good temp diff but a realistic scenario for laid back use.
IMG_20221111_083132.jpg
37 was the residual temp from about 16 hours earlier so insulation always matters. Barely any priming done and it had good draw - note the flame direction.

signage! A dab of direction can lead to a load of optimization.

The folding shelve support turned out to be a learning exorcise. If it only needed to work it would be easy but form is always a factor.

I had some brass wire handy from my own stache and decided to use this as worthy opportunity to try some ideas.
IMG_20221113_141939.jpg
the picture with the drill was a failed attempt and the wire didn't contract as far as I'd expected when wound. I used the drill chuck to spin all of the brass strand used.

More factors to consider than would bore a door to dust, I won't mention - I'll sum it up in one word 'iterative'

A resource challenge coupled with timely weather stuff and being caught with one's hoody off in a blizzard.
