Really? I thought frogs were the ones made out of curlicues of rope tied and sewn with a monkey's hand knot for the "toggle" equivalent, like you see on a lot of Oriental coats? I've always thought of "toggles" being more like Shawn is describing with leather holding a loop on one side, and leather going through an elongated cylinder out of bone, wood, antler or plastic (let's be realistic about modern ones!) with one end a bit pointy.
