From the title Permaculture Thorns – A Book About Trying to Build Permaculture Community , it's about community living. I read through quite a bit of it, and it's a good, addictive read (I usually hate reading books on screens, but I started reading it one stormy day when the internet went out. Even after the internet came back, I kept reading because it was that good!). I found it really interesting to see all the different flavors of communal living Paul has lived through and seen.

I'm also oddly pleased to see that the sketch I'd made for the cover one night for fun is still being used! I think I was working on it's digital market thread, and realized it didn't have a cover, and so sketched some blackberries and put on the title in the permies font...and Paul liked it enough to leave it there. And it still remains! (I think the blackberry is a good symbol for it, too. Communal living has it's thorns, but it also bears fruits. Are the fruits worth the thorns? Are there ways to decrease the thorns while still getting yummy berries? Maybe there's ways to avoid being hurt by the thorns while still reaping the fruits?)

Is it an idea to put how long some of the items are (either number of pages for books or the length of time for movies/docs) to give a rough gauge?

For example, I was very pleased to learn the Round Wood Timber Framing/Berm shed movie is about 90 mins. That is a lot of shed and I do love that :)

Thanks Sherry - you should be able to scroll down on the PayPal login/register screen and see an option to instead pay by card (without needing a PayPal account). It looks like this on my screen:

Sherry, Paypal sometimes does weird stuff that is outside our control.  things you can try:

1) use a different browser
2) use a different device

Let me know if either of these things help.

I recently joined and have been reading some posts and getting oriented to all that is going on here at permies. This is my first digital purchase, but the links all just take me to this post. So... am I correct to understand that on Jan 6th links will be published here where we can access the content? Or have I misunderstood something. Thanks in advance for helping me out!

I'm not involved in the promotion, but I took a look, and down by where you paid it says, "Bundle contents will be delivered on the 6th of January, 2023." I'm assuming that on January 6th, the goodies will be sent out as either gift codes or direct access to each of the pages for each book/movie/presentation/etc. You'll have all of the content indexed in your My Stuff

Sometimes these sorts of things can take a few days to go out, just to reduce the load on our server as people download/watch the stuff, but it does say that everything will be delivered on January 6th, so it might all happen on that exact day. If it doesn't, it shouldn't take more than a week!

Hi Kenneth!  Welcome to Permies - super glad you're here!

Yes, this is the first time we've done a bundle like this.  We will start giving access to all the content on the 6th.

We're considering the possibility of figuring out how to give it to a chunk of people today or tomorrow, then again on the 6th.

So, to everyone . . .

Click thumbs up/+1 if you have purchased the bundle, and you really really wanna get your hands on at least some if it right now

The High Art and Subtle Science of Scrounging ebook
by Jim Juczak

Hear expert scrounging tips from Jim including how to find free building materials and tips on finding and storing free food.

I got to hang with Jim at last year's Permaculture Technology Jamboree, and lemme tell you, what an incredible and peculiar human.  He knows a bit about seemingly everything, and brought serious enhancement to every project he came near.  He has a real grasp for the value of all kinds of materials when one is able to manipulate them with creativity and skill.  I'm super excited about this book!

Oh, and I'm probably not supposed to talk about this, but I just saw some of Michael's raw footage from the PTJ, and Jim has some gold in there as well.  I hope it can become a full movie!

Hello,
I too am apposed to paypal, I canceled my acct. with them years ago. I'm really excited about this bundle!, but not about starting another paypal acct.
When I click "pay with card" it allows me to fill in the card/name/address info, but the only way to move on from that is by creating a password and clicking "agree to create a paypal account"
Am I missing something here? on ebay & other sites i've been able to basically "swipe" my card through paypal (hold my nose) and be done without creating an account.
Am I doing something wrong?

I needed to (in my case) update a long-dormant paypal account, paid my $35. Purchase shows up in "my stuff" that is part of the menu when I click on my account photo/name. (It took me a while to figure out that was where I should be looking). BUT when I click on the link to get at the bundle I just purchased, there's no place I can find - top, middle or bottom of page - to actually download anything.
I wrote back to the address that confirmed the purchase - and did again today -
Maybe writing this here will move things towards resolution.

I too wanted the bundle but if recreating a Slay Pal account is the only way then count me out!!

I'm taking this as a sign that I shouldn't spend the money anyway...

I ordered it!

No clue whether I used my affiliate account, and I suspect I have most of it already but - I LOVE YOU GUYS.  Oh hey!! Big question though I suspect I'm supposed to know the answer already: is there a place I can see all that I've purchased/ been awarded through kickstarters as it's quite hard to track...

Happy New Year to us all, stay safe, and take care.  Be generous when you can; gosh knows the world needs more of it.

Much love and aloha,
Polly

Hi all!
Jack at The Survival podcast mentioned this and I am excited to get this really fantastic bundle! I too, am having a dickens of a time finding an option to pay directly with a card. I have followed Beau and Jules advice, tried three different devices as well as two different browsers. Brave and Safari for reference, with no luck. I did find a 'pay with card' button after hitting the paypal 'login' button, which I believe is what Jules was talking about, and I thought I was in business...but it kicked me back to the same page Sigurd showed us, with the end result being one had to create a paypal account.
Can anyone help find us non-paypalers a way to buy this?

Thanks!
Shannon

I purchased, received email confirmation with link to access and separate email receipt. When I click link it brings me back here, but with no access to materials.
Logged out and in again, navigating to "My Stuff" under account info. Still no access. Help???

EDIT: ah, will be delivered Jan 6th. Totally missed that. Phew. I'll try to be patient...

Hi Shannon, welcome to Permies!

Sometimes paypal just decides to be that way.  I know it's frustrating.  We're working on some other options, but the only alternative currently in place is manual processing, with a $10 fee.  More about that here: https://permies.com/t/186450/buying-digital-market-stuff-paypal.
