Install a permanent AC light fixture - PEP BB electricity.sand.AC fixture

Well, the LED light fixture we bought so that we'd never need to change a bulb again (5 years ago) failed.  The light still works when you hit it but the fixture has failed.  So while we saved 30 cents in electricity with the LEDs, the waste of the dead fixture far exceeds the savings.  So I got a prettier one that takes standard A15 bulbs so we can go with incandescent.

In a storage shed a permanent light fixture is not always pretty and the small bulb I had to test it with will be replaced with more wattage. Wire strippers  have a small hole on the flat that is used to bend the stripped wire into a small J to hook around the screw, nice to know saves on the fingers.  The light switch does not need to control the plug in the same box.

I submit changing the fixture.  The old one produced too much heat and was buffeting us about the head.  The new one is much brighter.  Later we'll put a dimmer switch on it.

Here is my submission for my FIrst Electricity BB.   Sand - Install/Replace a permanent AC Light Fixture

To document the completion of the BB, I provide the following:
1 - a picture of the current location that needs a new light fixture (I installed this light several years ago and recently, it stopped working so I'm going to replace it.  Originally, I purchased two 2-packs of this light and installed three so I had a matching spare.
2 - a picture of the electric box with wires - fixture removed
3 - a picture of the installation midway through
4 - a picture of the finished installation with the light turned on

Some things with electricity here in the Netherlands are a little different from the USA. We have 220 Volts, other colours of wires (and they even changed throughout the years, so they don't match now), and other way to fix the wires. But I think this will be OK for a BB.
This lamp shade I made many years ago as a gift to my parents for their (then new) weekend cabin. Now, after about 40 years, my mother (now 90) decided not to go there anymore. The cabin (trailer) will be demolished. First we (the children) removed everything still usable. One of the things I took from there was the lamp. I cleaned and repaired it to hang it in my bedroom. There was no light at the ceiling there.
