Here is my submission for the Natural Medicine - Sand - Make a Peppermint Leaf Salve BB.

To document the completion of the BB, I have provided the following:
- a picture of your journal page about your recipe for peppermint leaf salve along with dosage information
Dosage: apply a small amount to face or small open wound - last item on instruction list in photo
- a picture of your peppermint leaf, freshly harvested (which I dried and diced before putting into the oil)
- a picture of the peppermint leaf in the oil with a description of what oil and other ingredients you used - see next paragraph
- a picture of your completed salve in its permanent, labeled container/jar

I used olive oil and coconut oil to make the infusion of mint.  I added beeswax to thicken and essential oils before transferring to the storage jar. Aunt Nattie suggested I add tea tree oil because I wanted a soothing face salve to heal scaley skin.

I used the double boiler for infusing the mint into the salve, then let it sit for another few days. I reheated to strain then added beeswax and a tablespoon of shae butter while warm because I prefer the creamier texture for lip balm. I added a few drops of tangerine and mint EO into the tin prior to pouring in the hot oil. Viola! A balm for both the lips and the winter knuckles.

I had no idea this was possible with natural ingredients. This BB makes me very happy and I see a future that includes homemade tiger balm.

I have a patch of mint by my backdoor. I picked a handful, chopped and added to 100g of coconut oil in a bain-marie with a lid. I put it on the lowest heat setting and left it for 2 hours to gently steam. I then left it over night to finish infusing. This morning I warmed it up again because the coconut oil was starting to set. I strained and weighed again, coming in at 88g of oil. I left the oil in a small beaker and weighed out 15g of beeswax, a 1 to 6 ration, and melted in the bain-marie. I mixed the two liquids together and poured into a couple of old tins. Job done.
