I ordered 2 decks about a week ago. One for me and one for my niece. She collects cards and loves nature so it seems a good fit and chance to indoctrinate her. 😁

The order hasn't shipped yet but I am looking forward to getting them. They look so lovely from the pictures.

Then you must have ordered them from amazon since I don't sell the cards for any number less than six.   I send cases to amazon and amazon ships them out one (or two) at a time.  Did you order from amazon?

I just wanted to share some feedback since I've now seen the cards in person.  They are gorgeous.

I was hoping my niece would like them since she enjoys nature but I wasn't positive since she's 12.  So it was a bit of a chance.  She spent quite some time reading them all with her little interested/enjoying smile on her face and then she enthusiastically came over to show me the Wofati card.  "I want this house; it's awesome!"  I told her it is totally something she can build for herself some day.

I give this book 10 out of 10 acorns!

The Permaculture Playign Cards by Paul Wheaton and Alexander Ojeda are awesome!

I like the cards for the following reasons:
- It's an actual deck of playing cards! It has all four houses of cards and everything from aces to kings are included, and even a couple of jokers!
- The cards are well-organized visually! I like the artwork that takes center stage on every card, and I love the quick and succinct blurbs around the pictures that explain the concept/idea it tries to convey.
- The cards fulfill their intended purpose very well! They contain many different bricks of permaculture and share tidbits of information with people, while you're playing any variety of card game!
- I love how well-hidden the names of supporters are inside the deck of cards!
- I like the breadth of permaculture bricks chosen to be conveyed in the cards! It gives a nice broad overview of permaculture!

We gave these out as favors at our wedding reception. People loved them and thought they were very appropriate given our environmental bent!

Gave these out at our wedding as thank you favors. A big hit with everyone! Plan to take a deck into my school for those "inside" winter days so kids can get exposed to the concepts. It's all about influencing them at a young age!

I am withdrawing from selling on amazon.  Too much hassle.  I have a few more decks at amazon now and I guess those will sell out and then the pirate gets the sales after that.

This isn't the first time I might be saying or doing something really stupid online, but just how does one buy the cards? The link to richsoil site has options to buy the cards in multiples, but nothing for just one deck. Also, there seems to be no working link to buy the decks. The ”Buy Now” thing with images of various payment options is just that... images. No link to anywhere to input payments. I can go to Amazon, but you just said that you're pulling the product from there (or at least when they run out.) Even the rich soil link that says "Get the permaculture playing cards here” just takes me back to the page I was on.

Money is tight at the moment, but there might be some in the till this month to splurge on something. So no guarantees that I'd actually buy the cards, but if I wanted to, I don't see any way as to how to, save going to Amazon, ”while supplies last!"

But currently no sale for just one deck. Maybe Paul might be interested in that, since he will no longer be selling on Amazon?

Thanks! I didn't use ’search,’ just relied on the links provided in his posts, as well as the banner ads. Nothing took me to what you provided. If one has to use a search engine to figure out how to buy something readily offered for sale... I dunno. I do not want to sound critical as I love Paul's work and permies.com, so if it can me taken as charitable constructive criticism...

Anyway, once I can scratch together $30, I'm buying his book and perhaps a deck of cards. I can't afford multiples, even though it's great for permaculture ’evangelization’ or ’world domination.’

I used to wonder why Paul pointed everything to the Richsoil site...and then finally realized that he did that so that when people search google for permaculture cards, they'd find Richsoil (which google likes better than permies.com). And since there's so many links on permies pointing toward the richsoil page, that increases the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) on that page.

As often is the case, Paul has his devious plans that don't make much sense to the rest of us, but he does have his reasons!

That's cool. But the richsoil site still should have useable purchase links! Everything directs to it as the goto place to buy stuff (links, banner ads)! Anyway, one way or another, when I get some cash, I'll buy his book and a deck o’ cards. I'm really looking forward to the book; I need advice on not getting mad at the Bad Guys.

I went over to the Richsoil site and scrolled down to the "By the dozen! (or half dozen)" section. I tried clicking the numbers there, and it took me straight to paypal.

Did these not work for you, or maybe it wasn't apparent to click on the numbers? I'm thinking if you couldn't find them, other people might not be able to, either. Would it be better if those had little hyperlink lines under them, or if they were buttons. Maybe like the buttons I used on the Better World Book thread? Like this:

I never clicked on the numbers; no idea that I had to! I just clicked one the ”Buy now” thing or the payment types (VISA, etc...) Yes, when I click on the dollar values, I get taken to PayPal. I still would prefer an option to buy just one deck; for that I'll go to Amazon if they're still available when I can afford them and the book, I'll buy them.

Maybe it's just me, but it wasn't obvious to click on the numbers; it seems more obvious to click on the payment links

I'm going to try to get the sales threads for 1 deck and 2 deck today. We'll see how much time my kids give me. But, the shipping cost for a deck is sadly very high (shipping costs keep getting higher. When I mail my small, light needle-felted creations, they cost $3-6 ship. It's crazy! And a deck of cards is a lot heavier than my felted creations.)

Completely up to you! You all know better what's workable regarding pricing and shipping and all that. I have little need to buy multiple decks as I go nowhere where I can leave them for ’evangelizing.’ My wife and just gift each other Christmas/birthday/anniversary presents, and perhaps her sister. So, that route is unavailable. If I don't get them for whatever reason, so be it. Life continues.

I got my set of playing cards and <3 <3 <3 them!! A few of my favorites are 5 of spades (Food preservation-- duh!) and 2 of hearts (cast iron).

I also love giving them as gifts and telling the story of this magical place in Montana where they come up with this kooky stuff! :)

One minor suggestion for the next version: PAUL WHEATON NEEDS TO BE ON A CARD.

Thank you!
Austin

Alexander Ojeda did the artwork.   He made a card called "the duke of hearts" and sent it over - just for giggles.  It was cute.  I tried to find it, but I think it is gone forever.

I ordered two of these (one for the friend who introduced me to permaculture years ago). I really, really like them. The only problem I have is that I need a magnifying glass to read the words.

I was hoping to buy a couple of the lovely permies playing card packs for Christmas, but I haven't been able to get the pay buttons to work. Is there something special I ought to be doing? I've tried on my computer and phone, but to no avail.

You are starting here right?

And then you see something like this, right?

                US Shipping Intl Shipping
12 decks        $85      $160
24 decks     $150     $210
100 decks $520 $640
6 decks     $60      $90
2 decks        $30      $50

Which thing are you clicking on that is giving you trouble?

We are still getting lots of orders.  We ship via usps.  Either priority mail or first class.  So my guess is that ordering now will get to US addresses by christmas.   Ordering on wednesday will probably only get to places close to montana on time.
