Hmmm ... what about 50 cents - will it allow a half dollar?
I'm pursuing SKIP to inherit property, check it out for yourself: SKIP book or maybe you're my Otis/Otessa match?
I love that Rocket Mass Heaters are Carbon-Nuetral. In Erica's and Ernies Art of Fire Presentation, Erica explains the chemistry of how that's possible!

Won't allow entering a decimal at all. Either desktop or mobile.

Christopher Weeks wrote:When you guys are posting those tables of "$$ Voted" for each crop, what exactly are you reporting?
For instance, just above, hazelnuts are $701.46. If that's the sum of backers with a backing amount of $0.19, which is how I infer this should be working, it means 3691.89474 people have added a $.19 support tip thing...which is plainly impossible. So I'm misunderstanding or your data are booched.

Potatoes $0.14
Potatoes can produce 17 million calories per acre."
I don't think that pumpkins produce nearly 3x as many calories per acre as potatoes or corn. "The pumpkin produces 42 million calories per acre. "

It really depends on the spacing used in fields, which depends on the styles of tractors and implements. I wrote an article on this and it was really hard to come up with some basic numbers. Not to mention different fertility and rainfall/irrigation. I ended up figuring based on the average yield per plant and the most commonly recommended plant spacing here in the US. I am confident that a skilled gardener in good soil working an intensive model can do 2 or 3 times the standard published yields, in a good year. I ended up basing my article on the more commonly used growing methods because it portrays common results.paul wheaton wrote:My experience with these numbers is that they vary from site to site. I think the numbers will change a lot depending on length of season, fertility of soil, irrigation and so much more. And then some people will grow suchokes and potatoes, but nothing else. And their potato numbers are very different from the other site that has numbers for potatoes and corn. Etc.
It would be mighty handy to come up with one grand table of info.
