My Dad is holy terror on pants. I give it two more weeks before he rips the back out too.

Nothing motivates me to get things done that I don't want to do like a badge system!  Sewing is something I have not done in many years and I never did anything more than sewing on patches.  So, I enjoyed this quick refresher on sewing, and the confidence it gave me to move forward with the craft.

I used a scrap of very flashy cotton fabric, a sewing needle, cotton thread, and some pants that had air showing through the knee.

Thank you and enjoy!

Here's my sub for the textile.sand.patch. I used patch coming from a t-shirt used for a previous bb. All coton, the threads, t-shirt, hoodie. Did it partly to cover a hole, partly to decorate. Edges are finished by had too.

Note: I hearby certify this complete.  Excellent job using the patch as decoration too!

I'm sorry I had already give those other pants back to my Dad, but there's always something else to patch.

I just finished sewing a patch onto a big old hole on a sock.
It is actually super simple, once you get the hang of it.

Staff note (r ranson) :

I'm not sure about this one.  The badge description specifies woven fabric, but the patch job looks good.

Note: The requirements say "woven fabric" so I don't think the knit qualifies.

For this BB, I sewed a patch onto the elbow of a cotton button-down shirt that had ripped. I used leftover cotton embroidery thread and some scrap cotton fabric. The stitch used is a blanket stitch because it is strong, reinforces the edges of the patch, and looks pretty.

Resubmitting showing the hole under the finished patch with the shirt turned inside out. It's in the first picture, but it's difficult to see.

Note: We prefer to see the actual hole in the fabric, not just the shirt. If you turn it inside out, will the hole be clear in a photo?

I finally found a piece of woven clothing that was woven, AND had a hole in it! I over estimated how much green thread I had, so I had to switch threads half way through. thus it did not turn out very pretty, but it works!

Note: Hmmm, in the photo it’s hard to see if it’s stitch all round the edge. Do you have a clearer one? Or if it isn’t, stitch up that side?
