To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must show proof of the following (as pictures or a video < 2 mins):

- the oily dish after the meal is over
- the food scraps going into a compost or animal bucket (if applicable)
- the plate being wiped with a piece of paper for future fire starter
- the last bit of oil being removed with hot water
- the newly clean dish

This plate was covered in thick bacon grease after making breakfast.

Valuable fat calories go right into my dogs' diet, none wasted!   Might be outside of a comfort zone for some, but they are very effective and saves me a lot of steps and extra cleaning (no scrapers, buckets, etc.).

Final wipe with a bit of paper towel (used the next day for my Dakota Stove BB!).   Not too much oil left on plate though.

Washed with HOT water just a bit of baking soda,   squeaky clean into the dish rack!

Note: I believe the rest of the grease was to be removed only with hot water.

Of course I immediately thought "what an easy BB, I'll just save my bacon grease and then deglaze the pan as usual!"  But, as usual I find I am one step behind the clever permies on this site.

The dish I cleaned had some roast and greasy potatoes served on it.  I scraped most of the grease off and put it in the grease can for frying things later.  There happened to be a cold day in hell and I found a paper napkin in the house to wipe off more grease.  Then a quick hot water rinse, and finished up with a towel dry to result in a perfectly clean serving platter.

Thank you, enjoy!

I photographed my oily and clean dish in front of a window so you could see the oil and then the lack of oil. I didn't think about raising the blinds to remove the lines of light.

The few crumbs went into my compost bin.

Someone was throwing away an opened pack of coffee filters. I saved them for random things, like when I need to wipe up grease for a fire starter...

This is a terracotta dish.
It would not be a good idea to use soap to clean this porous material. On top I'd destroy my garlic seasoning as well. No, no! No soap!

Note: Per the requirements: "Clean an oily dish (plate or bowl--not a skillet/pan/pot/etc) without soap." An Instant Pot is considered a pot, not a dish or bowl, so it doesn't fit the requirements of this BB.
