Cup of tea - PEP BB foraging.sand.tea

I took a walk and foraged pineapple weed, clover, and rose petals for my cup of tea. Tastes like early summer!

I made a cup of pineapple weed tea, and was totally unprepared for how delicious it was. I'm including these pictures:

It's a little late in the season for it now but I made nettle tea, I've previously had nettle tea from a company that sells it but never had fresh nettle tea. It was slower to steep than I expected, and tasted a bit... green I think I prefer dried though it could be that I'm picking it at a sub optimal time

Today I learned I like nettle tea way more than sautéed nettles. Oddly, I find it smells kind of like oatmeal.

I made some pine needle tea. I found this tree in a local park. In the UK, it's legal to forage in parks as long as the plant isn't in a garden bed (purposely planted) or in a royal park (such as Greenwich or Richmond). I found this tea much nicer than the dandelion tea I tried earlier this year.

Here I foraged some plants local to my area, hopefully they cam be counted for this !

The Norway spruce in my permaculture backyard gifted me a wonderful cup of tea this morning. Watch the video to find out!

I make the argument in the video that I didn't plant this tree. It was here for years before we acquired the property, so I consider this foraging, and not harvesting something that I planted.

What really struck me was that the longer the tea cooled in my cup, the deeper a salmon/pink hue it took on and the sweeter it got, naturally. I didn't add anything.

Pine needle tea. First time i have ever made this by itself - i usually put parsley and a wee bit of ginger with the needles.
