Anyone have experience with this?
Liberator Rocket Heaters https://rocketheater.com/
I was thinking I could make a brick or cob "mass" around it.

One was installed 2 years back at Wheaton Labs, in the workshop (there is now a batch box cob heater in that spot). Also Uncle Mud has used one for several years at his house if I'm recalling correctly. It has some mass built into it, but I'm not sure that you can add more mass to the exhaust area and still generate the proper draw. I would contact the manufacturer to confirm whether that's an option, they might already have some options that are tried and tested.

Daniel Ray put some gorgeous tile work onto his 8 inch batch rocket. Also, he used multiple shades of cob.

Thanks Jeremy for posting this here. I love my rocket and hope it inspires the creative juices of all the soon to be RMH builders visiting here.

This is a heater built by 'De Vrijlemerij', loosely translated into 'The Loam Freemanship', from the north of the Netherlands. It's a see-through heater with a heated bench on three sides. In fact, the whole of the bell and bench are acting as one bell, although irregular shaped. Its core is an upscaled (8") sidewinder version of the Double Shoebox Rocket or DSR3 design. The single air inlet is serving both door frames.

And a short video of the first burn.

Hi mavrick, and welcome to permies. Nice looking rig and if it heats your space, then I'd call it fit for purpose.

Does anyone know of a rental home that has a rocket mass heater? I would like to experience a couple nights with one to see how it runs and operates.

Hey Clayton,

First, Welcome to Permies!  Here is the link to the how Permies works page. https://permies.com/w/how-permies-works

Second, Paul has a SEPPer program where he rents out the cabins at Wheaton Labs for a nominal fee.  Below is more information along with pictures of the cabins...many of which have rocket mass heaters in them.

Enjoy permies!
