Weave a belt - PEP BB textile.straw.weave.belt

Here is my submission for the Textiles - Straw - Weave a Belt BB.

Specifications
- my belt is approximately 1-1/2" wide and long enough to be used by a real human
- added a buckle to the belt - two rings are sewn into one end
- used natural materials - cotton
- used warp-faced weaving techniques - tablet weaving
- the end of the belt has been stitched to secure the end while keeping the warp ends loose

To document the completion of the BB, I have provided the following:
- before (show the materials), during, and after weaving the belt

I made a belt out of handspun wool thread. I wove it on a warp-weighted loom (necessetating a tablet-woven starter), and packed the threads densely enough to create a plain weave warp-faced fabric. Attached a vintage buckle from my collection and hey presto -- a belt!

Ends were finished via a rolled hem.

Wove a belt

I used 4 weaving sticks and a ball of wool to make a belt, 2" wide x 38" long. Long enough for somebody, but not me. The weaving sticks were easy to make and very easy to use. I recommend that when sliding the weaving down the warp, leave 1" of weaving on the sticks, otherwise they tangle.

More sticks would make a wider piece. Thinner sticks would make a tighter weave.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
- weave a belt at least 3/4" wide and long enough to be used by a real human
- add a buckle to the belt - it can be simple (two metal rings) or complex - show that the belt is the right size for the buckle
- use natural materials
- use warp-faced weaving techniques like tablet weaving, backstrap, etc.
- finish the ends

To document your completion of the BB, provide proof of the following as pictures or a video (less than two minutes):
- before showing the materials and loom setup
- weaving in process
- you finished project

I'll be using a stick loom made from 6 chopsticks.  The material is 100% wool yarn.

I put the yard through the holes, looped it and tied it to the other yarn loops to hold the warp yarn.

This was a fantastic experience!  After dropping a couple wefts I learned to look at each end to verify which direction I was to go.  I also learned to keep my work at the bottom of the chopsticks to easier release it down onto the belt.  Fun stuff!
I began my weft by tying off to the first stick and wove this belt.  The belt buckle is 2 rings from my macrame.

This is my second attempt at this belt.  The first was not a warp-faced belt.

I started my warp-faced belt using a backstrap technique.  I didn't make it long enough so had to start over.

This belt was longer, adult size.  At first the belt was secured with the backstrap and attached to a dowel my feet held.
It wasn't very comfortable, so I brought my macrame rack to the end of the couch and attached one end to that and
the other end to the backstrap.  It went much faster.  However, I am obviously a novice as the belt is neither straight
nor even.  It is 3/4" wide.

The ends were finished by attaching them to a belt buckle I took off an old pair of shorts that had worn out.

The completed belt! I used a key ring for the buckle and I crocheted a little strap around the side to hold it in place. It is 1.25-inches wide (I can provide a picture with a measuring tape if needed).
