The Polyculture Project

I have a lot to learn about brining trees into polyculture systems.  I am excited to read this compilation and play with these ideas.

Here is the thread:

I can't believe there are less than 72 hours left!

We've locked in the $100K stretch goal and I am fangirling so hard!  If we can get to $100K, all $100 and up backers will get access to a live webinar with Dr. Elaine Ingham!!!  She's going to talk about soil microorganisms and how to interpret their messages.  This will be an awesome webinar.

I think we can do it.  Let's go!

Great work on yet another amazing Kickstarter!

Does anyone know if a recording of the Dr Elaine Ingham Webinar will be made available to $100 and up backers please? It's not really practical to watch it live for many of us (particularly those of us who live on the other side of the clock)

We have settled into a delightful path with these webinars.  We offer the live, interactive event as a stretch goal because it is so beefy.  And if everything goes well and we manage to record it and do all the other stuff so a recording is available, we have been offering the recordings for ten bucks, and people with access to the live thing can get the recording for five bucks.

Even if the project is funded already:

By supporting the movie project, will one support a movie-creation (with important knowledge), which will be available for the public after it's been funded here, of will it then in the future become a digital product people must (can) buy?

Thanks for clarifying.

Yes.

One of those two.

Maybe both.

In the past, we have set a movie like this up for digital sale.  The free heat movie is one example: https://freeheat.info

We have tried to make several excerpts available for free:

We have made one of the plans available for free:

https://permies.com/3dp

We are trying to find ways to:

   - infect more brains with this stuff (free and non-free)

   - pay for more events, more video and incubate future projects

   - find ways for more permies to make an income with permaculture stuff

With each passing year, we seem to find ways to get better with this stuff.  I suppose some people can see that we are making a massive global difference.  And others will see that we are doing it all wrong.  Whichever turns out to be right, we are, at the very least, doing something.

Can I get just one item from the long list of gifts for donating?

The shave horse plans is all I need and want.

To answer this question, I need to unravel two tiny bits:

    - there is no donation.  Kickstarter gets pretty pissy around that word.  Plus "donation" would suggest that you give me money and then run away.  I might not even know who donated!  Kickstarter is where you back a kickstarter - sorta like buying things months in advance.  Thus providing the project with operating capital to complete it all and get you your thing-a-ma-bob.

   - the stuff we are offering are not gifts.  Maybe "bonus goodies" or, in this case, "kickstarter rewards."

The way we do all this is to process it all en masse.  So there might be 300 people that get a thing, and we have a way to processing all 300 in about three minutes.   So, if you sign up for the kickstarter for a level to get the plans you want, you will get a bunch of other stuff too.  I suppose you could ignore all the other stuff and just take the one thing you really want.  Maybe later you might like the other things too.  Or not.

Another path is to wait until the kickstarter is over ...  maybe a month, maybe two.  And then the plans you want will probably be available for sale.

Does this answer your question?

I did some 'mathing' as my girls like to say and all stretch goals so far add up to about
$510 in added value
For $100 backers, every dollar gets them $5 back in rewards. Now, that's a deal!!

2768 ...   we have less than 24 hours ...  and only 19 new backers so far today ...  my guess is that we might get 20 or 30 new backers by the time we are done ...

It's just nice to think about 2768.  That is a lot!  My thinking is that each kickstarter would be more and more peeps.  I guess we had some special magic with that book!
