1097 backers so far! It's good to be one of them and know there are some top quality resources coming your way to build your permaculture library, with the added bonus of helping to spread the word far and wide by supporting Kickstarter with all the knock-on effects of getting Permies' info out there to the masses

I am looking forward to learn more about the spring terrace, featured in the movie. We have a hilly area that has much potential for doing something like that.

Hi Liv!

That would be so much fun!   I am really excited to learn more about this too and make one on my place.  I have a lovely slope that looks like it could be a spring with a little help.
Sometimes we just need a little bit of knowledge and we can do so much more.

Jinkies! The Low Tech movie Kickstarter is gathering momentum and we have hit the $45,000 stretch goal! Pats on the back all round!

New Goal!

We are excited to announce the sustainable beekeeping documentary - Saving the Life Keepers - brought to you by Green Planet Films as a stretch goal if we reach $50,000. This incredible film explores how we can all help develop sustainable practices to help the honey bee thrive. Let's do this people!

How to get the stretch goals:

  • If you've backed at $100 or more, you will get access to the stretch goals we have reached so far. So, if you're a new backer, $100+ will give you all the rewards listed plus the stretch goals!
  • If you're an existing backer at a lower level, you can simply increase your backer level if you'd like to get your hands on the stretchy gold. Don't miss out on these excellent items!

20 people have raised their backer level in the last few hours since we announced the new stretch goal.

Are you guys raising your backer level because of the stretch goal we just reached or because you want to get to the next stretch goal?

Looks like a lot of folks want to reach this stretch goal.

    I hope we do!

"This documentary offers several practical solutions. These include:

    -utilizing the biodiversity of plants,
-mass plantings of protein rich flowers,
    -Queen bee organic mating yards,
-how to fight bee parasites and diseases without chemicals and antibiotics
-how beekeepers work successfully with productive and resistant Africanized bees."

We just reached 50k!  New stretch goal achieved!  New stuff going to all $100-and-up backers.

    Sustainable Beekeeping Documentary

I have to be honest.  I'm pretty blown away by all these stretch goals.  But as a natural building sort of dude, I'm pretty partial to this next one.  Kelly Hart has been instrumental in this field in recent years, and I for one really hope to get to take this movie home!

    Hello!

How do we know which number we were? I also added to my pledge this morning to meet the $100 - does that qualify for the extra benefits? And I realized after that my Kickstarter account is tied to a diff email than my Permies account, lol. Hopefully that doesn't cause any issues?

Thanks! Can't wait to dive in I'm still working through the Homesteading Bundle goodies!

You can add your Kickstarter email as an additional email address in your profile (as long as it isn't an secure apple address).

Laura and anyone else increasing their pledge to get the amazing stretch goals, just make sure you changed your actual pledge to the $100 level rather than added extra $ to a lower level.
To get the goodies it's essential to use the "Manage your pledge" and then "change your pledge" option on the Kickstarter home page rather than add to your existing pledge!
Unfortunately the way the Kickstarter system works it's possible for folks to pay $100 (by say, adding a $20 gift to a previous $80 pledge) but not be eligible for the extras. The guys can only distribute these to those who Kickstarter tells them are in the actual $100 pledge level. I attached a screenshot showing what you should see on the Kickstarter homepage - the bottom right of my screenshot shows the actual pledge amount.
Please double check what you pledged to be sure you're not disappointed!

I would love to try bees too.   I have a bit more to learn first though.  This movie will help for sure.
