Hey PEP-folks,

My busted flannel is now a nice stack of shop rags! It served for at least fifteen years, so I have no complaints, and it will serve for a while more.

Happy homesteading!
Mark

I finally tackled the multi-decade pileup of T-shirts. All of the cotton shirts got turned into fabric scraps for the textile BB (https://permies.com/p/2959399) and the not-so-cotton shirts got turned into rags. I made sure to cut out all of the designs for sentimental reasons. The backs, bottoms, and sleeves became rags. I didn't do anything special to them, just cut them up.

These are all the shirts from the collection that were some sort of polyester blend.

I used my daughter’s t-shirt that is too stained and worn to wear to school anymore, and my son’s pants that he’s outgrown. (We used them as part of his Halloween costume for its last use and now it’s a rag.)
I set aside the pieces too small to make rags as scrap fabric and the button from the pants is in my button jar.
I got 2 large rags, 2 medium rags and 4 small ones.

I found a new work T-shirt, and so to maintain equilibrium I have to demote and old work shirt to rags.

Edge case submission
(Posted from my phone, doesn’t seem to like this site. Sorry for the duplicate posts.)

Started doing this a long time ago after seeing a box of “t-shirt rags” that a customer bought for use in their shop.
Staff note (gir bot) :

Jesse Lane flagged this submission as an edge case.
