Perform some sort of labor over the internet and get paid - PEP BB commerce.sand.internet

This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum. Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Commerce.

Perform some sort of labor over the internet and get paid at least $50.

Here is a list of some ideas of things you can do for money over the internet, sometimes called Agile work.
Wondering what is Agile work? Have a look here.

To get certified for this BB, post the following:

A description of your labor

A picture of proof that the labor was done over the internet

A picture of proof it made you at least $50 (you can smudge the personal info, as long as it is identifiable as yours)

I shared links for Paul's Rocket Oven Kickstarter. He paid me a kickback percentage of the amount those people had pledged.

Here's an email during the kickstarter showing my progress, and then a screenshot of the amount I was paid.

Hello there!

I do wordpress work, over the internet for a few clients I've been very picky about choosing. (I also do project management, training, and project management training).

Here's a picture of some work I did for this client:

Here's a picture of one of the invoices:

Here's a picture of the payment for that particular invoice:

Mods, if you need extra details, PM me and I will gladly send/post them!

Would writing a magazine article count for this? All contacts, contracts and communications with the editor are and would be by email.

For those casting about ways to do this there are a lot of options. Too many to cover in a single post.

For small dollar commerce you can get paid to take surveys. I used Prolific, which is for academic researchers to gather data for their studies, but it is not available everywhere. You will usually get less than a dollar per survey, but they are short. A quick google search will reveal any number of small dollar options that companies are willing to pay to rent your eyeballs and attention span. Attachment below.

For mid dollar commerce, if you have a bachelor's degree you can sign up to help students by answering homework questions. I did this for Study.com for a few months, they pay $5/answer but it was college level stuff and worked out to about $8/hr once I got good at it because the answers need to be detailed. It does have the added benefit of helping you brush up on your old academic skills if you feel like you need it.

Finally, for full-time commerce, if you have a bachelor's degree and are a native or near native English speaker, you can get an English as a Second Language certificate and do online tutoring. This can pay anywhere from $15-50/hr depending on your qualifications, experience, and any sort of niche that you can fill (IELTS, STEM, Business, etc). I've heard rumor that it can get higher than that but this seems to be the market consensus rate. I haven't done this personally but I have known people who did it full-time and made decent money.

I think I completed this one. I wrote an article for Mother Earth News magazine about starting a homesteading club and they paid me $250 for it.

They contacted me by email and we communicated back and forth that way. Contracts were signed, scanned and emailed. Article and photos were emailed. So I hope that counts as "labor over the internet".

I sell physical copies of my music online. Sometimes I sell t-shirts and miscellaneous merchandise as well, but they sell better in person when I play live than online. Here are the receipts for the last couple months.

Hi Kyle, could you elaborate more upon how the CDs are burned, where they're shipped from and how involved you are in getting the CD from point A to point B? If you're doing all that, then it's a fit for this BB (per my understanding of Paul's brain). If a service does all that and you just see the money roll in, then it isn't a fit for this BB.
