I came across a large patch of nettles and harvested a few leaves. It was the perfect cold and rainy day in the Pacific Northwest for a cup of hot tea! I also added some turkey tail mushrooms I found, however, I didn't get photos of harvesting those.

Here is my submission for the Foraging - Sand - Make a Cup of Tea BB.

With over 100 acres to steward, and only about 5 acres fenced, there is a lot of land to forage.  I found wild strawberry plants - some were flowering - to harvest for this BB.  Flavorwise- I found the tea was very earthy when hot and mildly earthy when cool.

To document the completion of the BB, I have provided:
 - A picture of one of the plants in the wild
 - A picture of the harvested goods with the remaining plant in the background
 - A picture of the yummy tea in a cup

I collected dandelion and clover flowers and mulberries. I got the tea started and then realized that I had not met the requirement for at least a cup of foraged goodies so I foraged wood sorrel and added a cup of sorrel to the tea. It was a delicious combo.

My badge bit submission with fir tips tea. I had to celebrate being back in the inland northwest and out of the desert by smelling the firs and pines and trying this out. I love the citrusy smell!

My foraged White Clover tea. I'm also growing Crimson Clover so it'll be nice to compare the two when it's harvestable.

I made a cup of tea from fireweed. To be honest, I didn't care much for it, but I'm still glad I got to try it.

You'll want to show the whole harvest with the remaining plant material for other foraging BBs.  Congratulations on your new spiffy air badge.

Nettle patch harvested from outside the chicken coop on organic farm. Not harvested from roadside to avoid toxic gunk. Made tea. Wondering why Popeye ate spinach when nettles are so abundant, free and nutritional?
