Chopped and dropped some grasses and added to my hugel which was 11ft long and 5ft tall in the back and 5ft long and 8ft tall in the front.

Preparing my garden beds to turn over from spring crops to eventual fall plantings. Each of the beds pictured are sixty square feet (a bit less because of paths cutting across). I chopped and dropped the plants that were growing in the area and then, to add to the bulk, I added weeds (hand weeded, mostly grasses) from our front yard flower beds, grass clippings (our neighbor often gives us his - gas mower, but no treatments) and straw (which we used as temporary paddock bedding while we were on vacation and couldn’t rotate their forage).

I have these five apple trees that I’ve been wanting to mulch. I distributed ramial chips, but not enough. So when I saw this chop and drop BB, it seemed like a perfect opportunity.

Fifty square feet is the goal so each tree gets ten square feet. A circle of that size has a radius of just under 1.8 feet.

I cut some grass, snipped some vegetable matter, hacked weeds, and most of all, chopped up wild blackberry bramble that’s invading trails and garden.

One of the trees is a little different because it has a bag of gravel mulch down that’s been colonized by purslane that I want to keep.

I'm reclaiming a neglected garden and wasn't sure what was still in this area. I chopped and dropped (and pulled some unwanted perennials) around a purple grape, black-eyed Susan, raspberries, hyssop, and St. John's wort. I also brought grass in from another area.

It's starting to get colder at night down here in the southern hemisphere so I thought it's a great time for some chop and drop. First I harvested a bucket of sun chokes from my 25sq foot raises bed and chop and dropped the sun chokes and pumpkin.

After that I ripped out another pumpkin and give my nitrogen fixers out the front a haircut to cover about 35sq feet.
