Is anyone here going to build a Rocket Mass Heater for winter?  With all these plans and the new movie, it would be silly for me to go through another winter with electric heat!

I am so excited to build one!

JOEL JOEL JOEL!

I love Joel so much. His works have been foundational for the inspiration and designing my own business and livestock systems.

Lets go Joel!

I got to visit with Joel a little bit at the Exit and Build Land Summit in Texas.

I had the extraordinary fortune of getting to walk the gardens with him and the benefit of his wisdom.   He is such a joy!

I have been reading his books and playing with his ideas since high school.   I ordered and checked out his books from the library.  I read them all.  That was a huge part of my education in permaculture, and running a farm business.

I'm looking to build 3, give or take. Last fall's Jamboree was invaluable for stoking the creative burn chamber, we'll see what it takes to deliver something good in the pot...

Hi there.
I must confess I haven't read all 7 pages of comments before placing the following question, so please forgive me if it has already been answered, and kindly point me to said answer to my burning question:

Is it possible for me to back the kickstarter and get rewards without using a credit card (only option in kickstarter)?

Thank you for your patience.

Hi Permies,

I asked this question via email, but was suggested to post it here.

I would've loved to back the movie with 65 dollars, but unfortunately I only have paypal and no credit card. Is there any way I could join the party?

Warm greetings,
Daniël

I think kickstarter is credit cards (or debit cards) only.

I have a debit card attached to my paypal card - and I've used that to back other kickstarters in the past.

sending a monthlyish now

48 hours left in the kickstarter!

Maybe less because it takes 12 hours for a monthlyish to go out ...

In all of our past kickstarters, this is the moment when we see the most activity!  Hot diggity dog! What's going to happen?  Will we go big?  Will we fizzle?  Is it possible that we will see triple support?  Double?  Nothing more?  Are our stetch goals splendid enough?

WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN!

ACK ACK ACK! (channeling bill the cat)

All of the minute-by-minute adventure is in the permies.com thread for the kickstarter

Greg Martin announced a matching funds thing for a bit - that was a bit of fun!  What else is gonna happen?

Assuming that we hit the next stretch goal ...  that means that two kickstarter backers will be coming to the PDC - which starts in a little over two weeks!

That means that we need to put together the "kickstarter survey" tomorrow afternoon!

Taking a quick stab at how to do this  ....

We have some tickets to our summer events as part of our stretch goals.  To figure out who gets these tickets, we first need to figure out who wants to come.  The PDC (Permaculture Design Course) is June 12-25.  The PTJ (Permaculture Technology Jamboree) is June 27 to July 8.  Keep in mind that these tickets are non-transferable (your kickstarter name will be the name on your ticket). Select the events where you will come if you are selected:

  [ ]   PDC
  [ ]   PTJ

If you picked more than one, which is your favorite?

[                                                 ]

How does that sound?
