Share your Art - post here

I have a focus in animal and human portraits, always trying to challenge myself to learn new and better techniques.  I don't have a website because I've never been able to make money off art.  I mostly do it for myself or for friends.  I also do graphic business design and lots of other things.

Hi Jen, your artwork is spectacular. Selling art is a pretty time-consuming work for me, and I'm not making a living from it that's for sure. From what I've read, it seems an artist needs to get out there into the art fair markets, but doing that is also time and money consuming. I'm working on getting into exhibits... also time-consuming, and does costs some money but not as much. Just hoping to find an audience of collectors who want to buy. I may eventually give that up and just do it because I love it, lol, because it does seem like a long shot to 'make it'.

In school, I took science classes instead of art classes. I've often regretted that. Never too late to enjoy myself, or learn new things, so here is my first painting.

I stole the quote from Poe (a line from Annabel Lee), so it's only fair I give his quote on art.  He's kind of a jerk in most of his comments, which is why I think I like him so much.

I'd agree, and I am merely an imitator of what I see in nature.

Just finished a mule portrait for the neighbor :)

I do eco dye and eco printing with plant and mineral materials...some that I can glean myself and some that I purchase. I use old table cloths , clothing or fabric found in thrift stores. All natural fabrics.

This is a knitted blanket of Pride flags made on a hand powered vintage knitting machine for a local LGBTQ+ art show.

I've set up a redbubble shop. It needs to be advertised, but to feel good advertising it, I need to up my game. I like parodies on vintage posters, so I decided to start teaching myself in that direction. Also, to feel right advertising here, I need to have more designs relevant to this crowd. Toward that end, I found these examples:

I probably won't put this on any redbubble merch, unless Paul gives me express permission, or I read somewhere on permies that it'd be okay.

During the past year, I have continued to learn to paint and draw.

Festive art! I just put this wreath together this morning from mulberry branches, laurel boughs, nandina berries and leaves.

I'm no where near as skilled as all of you folks posting here, but I still have fun. I woodburned my brother a christmas tree ornament out of a slice of cherry. He likes fishing so I did my best to draw a fish jumping out of the water.

These were done by my other half. He's been enjoying pyrography for a long time now. I borrowed the images from his pyrography blog.

Hi! Newbie here. So trying to get off grid and this is where I'm starting, lots of great info. I live in TN, female and hoping to find a rural area to settle into a quiet retirement away from the system.  Anyway, will try this again, it keeps telling me there isnt enough memory,  guess that's my first question.

Amazing work! I am so blessed and joy-filled seeing all the creativity. Nudging me to contemplate what creative work I need to be doing.
