You often find yourself watering in the moonlight, or flashlight.

When the nighthawks come back. I love watching them dive for a bit before going to bed.

You're outside working, or playing with your kids outside....and you look at the clock and realize it's somehow already 9:30pm, and still not even dark, and you're way behind on getting the kids to bed at a reasonable hour!

When you wake up and realize that you don't have to go to work - other than gardening and get to take a nap on a lounge chair under the arbor in a cool breeze and out of the sun.

I know that summer has just arrived when the sun comes in the east window in the bathroom and orders me out of bed! The sun can theoretically come in that window before the summer solstice, but it's been soooo.... wet here, that the clouds have been obscuring it until this week.

I know it is summer when every time I come inside, I have to do a tick search, and find 6-8 of the little suckers.  That's been every day since 6/5/22.  I' alone on my farm and don't have any livestock or a dog at the moment, and the deer have been sticking close to the shady woods, so I'm their only blood source right now.  I'm hoping that the ones I haven't killed will die off from starvation soon.

Yes this and add that you don't eat dinner until hours past bedtime so it's a good thing that there are things to snack on in the garden!

The temperature of the rain goes up 35 degrees. Actually, the past few days have been extraordinary. Super hot but I'll never complain about seeing the sun, especially after the suckiest spring I ever remember having....

You declare 8pm to 9pm "golden hour" and cram all the farm work in there because your 6am day job doesn't allow morning chores at home!
