So excited! Very hard to choose.

Verifying: All of a 2-day, and part of a 5-day is still a 7-day fee, correct?

    Thanks, Coco;

I would be there Sept 20-25, though the full jamboree days I'd be participating in will just be 21-24.

if you do the 5 day pay button its only $300 or if you do 2 of 2 day pay button it would be 4 day its $320.
you save $20 if you do 5 days.

I should have commented on this thread sooner.  This event should be awesome!!!  I've been to a PEP event and you get to learn all sorts of skills.  The guides/instructors are wonderful and the site is beautiful.  Tons of permaculture stuff going on and cool homesteading skills abound.  And the people are the bestest.

Not sure how to cut down a tree?  Come learn how!

Not sure if you want to put a RMH in your new yurt?  Come fire a bunch up and see what you think of it!

Wanna build a hugelkultur but you don't have an excavator?  Use Paul's and see how it goes so you can do one at home quicker when you have to rent one (or do it by hand).

I'm coming for the soil magic week. It mentions bringing your own tools if you've got them. What tools would be helpful to bring along? I've got some of the basics (broad fork, bed prep rake, small hand tools).

Also, I know that the days will be jam packed with awesomeness but would it be worth bringing my bike with me for exploring local trails?

    Thanks! So incredibly stoked!

    Great questions!

In terms of tools, I think a good minimum to bring includes your favorite/best pair of gloves, and perhaps a good, sharp pocket knife. We actually don't have a broad fork around here, so if that is something you enjoy, it might be an excellent thing to have with you.

People enjoy biking between base camp and the lab - though it is certainly mountain biking conditions with gravel, dirt, and rough/steep roads! Often, folks enjoy hanging out in the evenings around here (playing a game, or watching a show, or just visiting), and the days are getting shorter, so it really is a huge "it depends" on whether you might like to go exploring in the evenings or on a day (or days) before or after the event.

I hope that helps! We're stoked to have you join us!

Yay!  Something grew  Thanks for posting the pictures Coco!

That hugel took less than a day to build with the gear available at Wheaton Labs.  If the excavator was used, I'm guessing it would have gone even quicker.  I had to haul all the dirt about 300 yards a scoop at a time.

All three nights.    Or all 20 nights.   However long you are here.

Mostly because gear often times needs to be properly cleaned, dried and stored.   Nearly everybody says that they will do that and then their parting words are "was gonna, but ..."  So it is really about getting it put away properly.

    Yay!

I didn't cut much video while I was up at Wheaton Labs, because there were always ten other fun things to do instead!

I'm excited to get the rest of my photos and videos into a usable format.
