So while the six people selected for the event will have full access to the event, boots are typically asked to help in a variety of ways - so they sorta kinda get in also.

Does drug free include alcohol free also?

Yes Thank you. I just wanted to be sure there's not a lot of drinking going on there. 🙏paul wheaton wrote:

We allow hooch, but we've been through some hooch related shit where we contemplated adding it to the "no" list.
https://permies.com/t/23888/permaculture-projects/smoking-pot-hooch-drugs
We currently say "go easy on the hooch - and handle your own hooch related recycling." For the first four years, we probably kicked a half dozen people out for hooch related stuff. And maybe there was another half dozen that we should have kicked out. The thing is, I would rather have my time spent on permaculture stuff and not on dealing with shit related to hooch. For the last two years we have had zero problems. People have been respectful. Hooch is nearly non-existant.
We had a gal in the bootcamp here last summer and she turned 21. So jocelyn rolled out a bunch of hooch-like things and everybody was trying stuff. That was it.
Life here now is really magnificent (knock on wood). I would hate to see it spoiled by hooch related drama.
I get the impression that nobody here is into hooch much. Maybe somebody will have something once every couple of weeks or so.
Does this answer your question?

Make sure you know what you are getting into here. This is not a refuge, this is about teaching people our techniques through a lot of hard work.
I have always thought that a person could arrive without a penny and do great here, but know this: every person that has arrived here in the past very low on funds has left. Every last one. The people that are still here arrived with coin in their pocket and think that being here is amazing.
Further, the people that arrived with very little tended to exit with enormous amounts of drama. The people that arrived with coin that elected to go, tended to exit peacefully.
You mention red flags: dude, from our perspective you are covered in red flags.
Ever since we have had the $100 gapper fee, we have held the position of allowing anybody to come that is willing to part with that much coin. And we will stick to that until our program is full. You just really never know a person until you know a person.
I think you need to spend some time learning what you are getting yourself into. Things here are quite different.
1) how long should a new booter stay before seeing progress in projects( building/planting/ projects started with a team/group)?
..honestly it all sounds interesting and material i'd like to learn. My only concern is how long I take off work. to try out your program. (asking in advance to request time off).

Most of the people in the bootcamp now have been here for several months.
Yes thank you, I have done some thinking overnight; and have decided to just give it my all, leaving the job behind, and shoot for my dream. Besides, IF I come back, I plan to be an excelled version of myself and put my growth to the table to better myself.

When you show up, the work will be whatever is the highest priority at the time. While simultaneously trying to keep the experiences a little varried.
Also, silly question, but will you teach one to stay warm throughout the winter? Coming from such a warm climate I feel that would be the hardest challenge but worth it. However, I don't want to get sick before I get started. Maybe like projects for shelters or is there a list I can reference for towards appropriate attire..because even the fluffiest of Floridas jackets are still thin as heck compared to Michigans winter weather.

The next step is to pay the fee.
