Make Rags From Old Clothes - PEP BB nest.sand.makerags

Needed more toilet cloths, cut up my husband's old cotton sweater (so sooooft) to make them. Only the best for our bottoms! We use them for #1 only, #2 we use toilet paper. We hope to move to a house one day with a bidet so we can use that for #2 and eliminate the toilet paper, as we did before in our previous apartment.

There are other ways to reuse old clothes besides rags. We have always cut off the legs of jeans when the knee goes out (I know, that's in fashion now),and turned them inside out.  Then just sew across the cut end and turn right side out again. With just one quick seem you have a bag that is hemed on the open end and is great for stowing things like jumper cables in the car.

I tend to end up with ripped or stained clothing after working outside so yes I make rags out of them all the time.

I used the techniques in the youtube video to turn an old undershirt into rags (though, I wanted fewer and larger rags than what he made in the video).

I had some old work shirts that were too stained to wear anymore. How does one stain a black shirt, you might ask? When your job involves dealing with a lot of white powder, that's how. I got new shirts without powder ground into them when I moved to a different position, and figured cleaning rags was a good second life for a shirt. The fabric is a cotton knit so I doubt it would have frayed anyway, but I used pinking shears to cut it up anyway, just in case.

My old undershirt is threadbare around the collar. I also need more window cleaning rags! Time for this bb.

Many people seem to make small square rags. I prefer longer rectangles that I fold several times.
