Here at the ATC, I installed an outlet!

We also wired up a three way switch on the table just for laughs. I learned a lot!

I installed an outlet yesterday!  Or more accurately, installed about ten of them.  It was my first time doing a conduit installation.  Here are the pics:

This was the first step to getting power to the storage shed.  I ran wire to the electrical box and used a box that would hold the light switch and create a plug. Lessons learned do not cut the wire to short, wire strippers that match the wire size are very handy, hammering staples to hold the wire is hard.

I submit replacing an outlet.
for more pictures about the loom room renos, here's a link.

I ended up doing five of these and one complicated one with a two-fuse thingy (break the little tab on the black side), but for this badge, I'm submitting the regular outlets.  The photos are from two of the ones I did yesterday (thus the different backgrounds).

How else can this be certified without the tester part? I could show some reading on my volt meter? I do not own a tester nor do i want to buy one....

Great question...  I didn't have one either but the one I got was pretty cheap and I like the simplicity of plugging it in and having it check all the things that could be wrong for me.  If I had to figure it out with a multimeter I'm not sure I'd do it correctly and it would be hard to prove for the BB...

Here is my submission for the Electricity - Sand - Repair/Replace Outlet BB.

To document the completion of the BB, I have provided the following:
  - a picture of the current location that needs a new outlet, or a socket failing a socket test
  - a picture of the installation/repair midway through
  - a picture of the finished installation with the socket tester showing a proper installation

The guts of the outlet have been getting looser (I have to bend the tines of the plug) for over a year now.  If I bend the tines for this outlet then they get unbent when I use other outlets around the house.  This is particularly true for the vacuum and I don't want to have to replace it or its plug so I replaced the outlet - cost under $1.  I also replaced the switch as 50-year-old "almond" is not the same now and we had switched the kitchen cover plates to silver.  I did not use this switch replacement for a BB.

The original electrical install (50 years ago) did not include several inches of wire stuffed in the box so I was working in tight quarters and the first time I wired it, one of the wires broke off while fitting everything back in the box (without me noticing) so I did end up with a failed circuit test.
