! Quick darning - PEP BB textile.sand.darn

I am in Florida for Hurricane Milton support and as I was opening boxes on a distribution line, I knicked my jeans.  I need a quick fix once I returned to the hotel. Luckily, I almost always travel with my army sewing kit. I will admit it isn't the prettiest job in the world, but it will prevent it from getting larger. Shout out to Ms. Polson my 7th grade Home Economics teacher.

Darn it! Sock got a hole. Good to fix while it's small before it inevitably enlarges. Not my first time darning but I couldn't find my mushroom so used a tennis ball. Used 100% wool mending yarn, I buy small vintage lots of it on ebay from time to time. Seems less available new but maybe I don't know the right terms to search for. Kinda wished I'd used some yarn a little thicker while I was doing it but worked out fine.

Wow, I am jealous on your vintage mending wool! Here even the vintage 'stopwol' (Dutch for 'mending wool') has 15% of nylon in it. Regularely I'm searching in second-hand stores, always hoping for real wool (and other natural materials), but never found a 100% wool mending wool

I darned my long purple sock. I used 100% cotton yarn and fixed it up real good. Now I'll be nice and warm for the winter.

Clarification:
  - All textile badge bits require natural fabrics and threads, such as cotton, wool, silk, linen/flax, and nettle. Synthetic materials are not allowed, even if they are recycled or repurposed.

While visiting WL, my wool leggings got holey. I was able to find 100% cotton thread but I wish I could have found wool thread. The thread seemed thin so I doubled the thread. I used an apple as a substitute for a darning egg.

A sock needed mending. I used cotton darning thread.

Thrifted sweater with holes in the elbow area. Used wool thread from another wool sweater I unraveled.

I have never done this before and I finally figured out what to use this needle and this yarn for.

I followed this tutorial. This one didn't use the weaving method, does this still count? I don't think my patch was big enough for it - it still ended up being pretty much invisible. I can't even figure out which side of the sock I mended.

I caught this hole while it was small and was lucky to have matching thread!

1) the hole in the heel of a sock, needle, and Egyptian cotton thread
2) creating horizontal part of thread grid
3) finished inside
4) finished outside

i have a pair of jeans with a hole. i have a needle and a spool of mercerized cotton thread from a time capsule sewing kit. i have time on my hands and a need to accomplish something. anything. even just obfuscating my underwear.
