I had to give you an extra apple for planing all those shelves.

The neat thing about a project like that is, though it takes forever to do, every time you use those shelves, you'll probably feel a sense of accomplishment and gratitude to yourself for having made them so nice!

BRK Post 31

Pretty tired today. It is a combination of peeling logs, planning shelves and chopping wood. Going to take Sunday slow.

But this morning I was sick of seeing all the firewood in front of Cooper Cabin, so now it's all split and stacked. Cooper Cabin still needs it's own firewood rack but the wood can stay as is for now. As put the lumber back under cover as it was snowing most of the day today.

Made a run to Missoula and by the time I got back I was really feeling beat. But pulling into basecamp I felt like a walk, so I walked up to the volcano - the highest point at basecamp. Three pics at the bottom are views from there.

Best of all today we made ramen from scratch at the Fischer Price house, I helped roll out the noodles. All thanks go to Matt and Lara who teamed up put it all together.

Thanks Nicole, they aren't perfect but I worked on them until I got the rough texture smoothed down. I can't claim all of them, Matt jumped on the bottom left ones to help me finish.

BRK Post 32

Taking it easy today. Doing some clean up around the tipi. Decided to tie up the tipi flaps and try to get them to lay flatter and close up the gap at the top. It's a bit better.

Going to read, cook, and rest. And prep for a cold week, need more wood in the tipi.

BRK Post 33

We're back to Monday and gardening again. Pulled and mowed down grass, edged one garden with some rocks and tried some air rooting on three large shoots on my semi dwarfing rootstock apple. Nothing I did would make a good picture

I found a cup of seed garlic no one else had planted so I planted it out and then mage a big mix of clover, alfalfa, diakon,and turnip then cast it over the front pasture. We aren't focused on it as a primary garden patch but improving it is a goal and all of those plants would do some good.

For our afternoon activities we prepped to do a full 24 hours up on the lab. We'll come down for taco Tuesday tomorrow. Looks like we'll need more water reserve and I had a thought about filtering used dish water through a bucket of media and getting clean water from it.

Finished my time with some more log peeling and got to drive the excavator from the cistern dig to the Abby. Took about fifteen minutes and almost shook me to pieces but I was excited to get a chance to drive it a bit.

For dinner we finished off the beef stew I made Sunday night on the wood fired stove. I took a lot of attention making sure the fire was low and constant.

Time now to heat up the Tipi, see ya tomorrow.
