question from email

our names appearing on all the videos: we have different last names, so can both of our names be together on the same line (ostensibly like most married couples') or is the $100 donation only good for one of us?

When the kickstarter is over, we will activate "the kickstarter survey".  There will be a question in the survey that will ask how you want your name to appear.  Put whatever you want in there.  Here is what the question looked like for the free heat movie:

how do you want your name to appear in the credits (feel free to use all the galactic titles you want) (limit of 65 characters)?

I was wondering if I do the $80 streaming is that only live streaming, or will I be able to watch later if I can't attend live streaming sessions?

The live part already happened!  This is not just the recording, but a very polished recording!

Okay, I'm ridiculously excited for this one.

If you want one of these 8 tickets, I suggest adding a few bucks to your backer level by clicking the "manage your pledge" button here.  We'll send out a survey after the kickstarter that says "do you wanna go if you get a ticket?" and the top 8 backers that say "yup" get the ticket.  If you miss the gimme opportunity, stand-alone tickets will be available for $250.

I have pretty terrible internet where I live. Will it be an option to stream video at lower qualities than HD? We have the best flow vs quality tradeoff around 360!

The player will switch between all available qualities to accommodate changes in the viewer's Internet, processing speed, and player size.
It automatically adjusts to the best quality of video for your current Internet connection and processing speed.

On the theme of poor internet, I feel like paying an extra $100 to be able to download the videos is like a fine for living in the boondocks and only having good internet when I go to the city. .. might the pie makers consider allowing people to electively trade in some of their stretch goal goodies for the option of downloading the master course?

Nice. That method sometimes causes a lot of stuttering on our connection but it's better than being stuck on HD (however much I'd prefer high quality)

In Paul's word "everyone must be thoroughly punished for the poor behavior of those who have come before."  So yeah, kind of a punishment, but not your fault.

The deal is that the downloads
a) are vastly more expensive for permies and
b) have vastly more potential for a whole host of problems down the road.

I don't look at the numbers, and I honestly don't know that much about the nuts and bolts of the website, but I'd wager an educated guess that the increased price is likely not even enough to offset the cost, when considering that this is 35 hours of video.

Can't do any trades either, sorry!

On the topic of stretch goals, I'd like to ask about the webinars.

As a European permie, I'm curious to know at what time and in what time zone do webinars usually happen? And if I can't attend, will there be a VOD available afterwards for those who had tickets?

I have been wondering something. When the kickstarter starter I did the early bird thing and pledged 80$. Later I added 20$ to it. Then I found out that I needed to be in the 100$ pledge to get the right rewards, so I changed it again. This time I removed the 20$ and moved my pledge from the 80$ level to the 100$ level.
Now I am thinking, will I still get the early bird rewards?

I was thinking that we would release all the video at the same time.  But now I am thinking that it could be kinda fun to release the videos as they are complete.  So we might start by releasing, say, monday morning.  And then people might watch it and start making comments.

??

We did it!  We reached my favorite stretch goal!!

If you want in on either of these, you might consider a backer $ amount somewhat higher than the $100-level, because they'll go to the top backers that stay "gimme" in the post-kickstarter survey.  Will $117 be enough?  Will it take $158?  No way of knowing for sure . . .
