Poor Mans Poll

Helen has offered a webinar as a stretch goal!!!  We pick one of these:

No-till, no-spray, no-fertilizer orchard to grow all your own fruit and sell at farmer's markets.

Creating a backyard fruit forest

Creating a commercial eco-organic orchard

This comment came in from a person watching Paul's podcast with Nicole Sauce.  It beautifully illustrates what is so amazing about THIS Garden Master Course, as opposed to the typical Master Gardener program.

Betty:
ā€‹our local master gardener stopped at my little garden, to tell me how to keep my weeds down, I told her that I planted them...she was at a loss! but not even curious

We zero'd in on an incredible, never-before-seen stretch goal!  If we hit $40,000, then all backers at $100 and up will get access to one of Paul's FAVORITE videos, Neal Kinsey's Hands-On Agronomy!  This is a fantastic deep-dive into soil health and balancing, available digitally for the first time ever at Permies.com.

From email:

Can you clarify to everyone like me, heh, heh?  Is the kickstarter to
get some video made that could then be purchased at a later date (no
Certification, just informative to watch), or is it to actually take a
Master Gardener Course on-line and become Certified?  Thanks Big
Fella!

The kickstarter will fund the editing of the videos.

Careful inspection of the rewards will reveal that backers at $80 and up will get access to the full, edited course video.

Certification requires attending in person, so no - no certification comes with backing this kickstarter.

Haha!!!  If you're reading this Betty, we love you!

Thank you for sharing that Beau.  Hopefully this KS movie makes many more Bettys out there.

been trying to sign up to Kickstarter to join, but there appears to be a problem, never get the verification email (I know, that's a kickstarter issue), however, how to join the kickstarter if I can't sign up with kickstarter?

Transmitting some Kickstarter comments over here so we can stay organized:

J. Larsen wrote: I don't suppose this could be moved to the $80 level. Right now the only difference for the $100 is to have our names on something right? Seems like fitting it on $80 level fits better, unless there's some other reason to go to the $100 level over the $80 one.

I'm guessing this is referencing the Hands On Agronomy stretch goal.  Probably not gonna move it.  Hopefully we hit it fast and get to add more value to the $100 level, but that is up to the backers, not to us.

R. Wood wrote: I would love to see a clear path to break this down into something that maybe fits in a 20x20 urban yard (2000-acre farm is a little intimidating compared to my tiny space).

Like this idea?

T. Dixon wrote:What about a binder of printed material to go along with the course. It would supplement the video and allow for note taking.

I know that Helen's working on a book (which I'm definitely going to buy as soon as it comes out) but I'm honestly not sure what material Helen makes available to the students of the physical class, but it's a good suggestion and we'll look into it.  It would probably be more of a digital file that you could print.

I'm just heartened by your confidence that we will hit the stretch goal we already have!
