In honor of the Composting Toilet kickstarter, Poo to Peaches, I wrote this Poo Haiku (Pooku??). I know you can too! Let your CT flag fly!

Haiku is 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables.

Subtropical desert (Köppen: BWh)
Elevation: 1090 ft Annual rainfall: 7"

Poo, adieu, little bit,
tiny little piece of shit,
nurturing the world.

Slurp and slop, kitchen mop,
Willow trees a poop beast be,
Eating like you an' me.

Adieu, adieu, pee-ew,
glistening steaming pile o' poo,
fueling trees and the seas.

A mound o' poo, thank you!
Rolling o'er the hills wi' me and you,
Sings the dung beetle

Bending over on knees,
plop, kerpuddle, poo a stew,
teaming with life and pee.

-I made these intentionally ambiguous.

perhaps twould be best to eschew
wrapping the wondrous form of Haiku
too intimately around .....poo

No matter the wonderous things it do
for all things crawling or greenly grew
Haiku and ...poo, won't do.

Nothing is impossible to a sufficiently talented fool!

My husband's:

I held it too long
When I went, I sang a song
Neighbors hit their gong

I forgot my shoes
Went to do a number two
Don't forget your shoes

No one was around
So I didn't lock the door
Someone was around

Ran out of TP
I had to stand up one time
to get more TP

Nothing brown was there
I sat down, then looked around
Something brown was there

It would not flush down
It was long and hard and brown
Poop knife took it down

Mirror wasn't clean
I dressed up and looked so nice
People were so mean

I left the sink on
I went to the gro-cery store
Now I live like fish

I thought you were cute
Then you made a number two
I gave you the boot

Baby crawled on in
We told her it was a sin
To put something in

Toilet wouldn't flush
We dug in and found some mush
Part of a hair brush

Went to be alone
No computer and no phone
Fingers under door.

I ate too much food
Went to do what doozers do
Load of bubbling crude

I had a pet bird
I made a gigantic turd
I have no pet bird

This is not haiku but it was a favorite adaptation when my boys were young.  Sung to tune of the scarecrow' s "If I only had a brain" from Wizard of oz.

I have to take a poopy
I think it will be soupy
It won't be hard or long
It will run right down my trousers
It will fertilize your flowers
When my poopy comes along.
