This hatchet was rusting away. Nothing wrong with it really so I decided to clean it up a bit.

I bought a SOG Hatchet that was not out of the box sharp and had some dings already on the edge. I used a whetstone for this as the hatchet is really light and the blade is almost the exact width of the whetstone. Overall it came out super clean. It was a little hard getting pictures of the paper being cut because the lighting was bad but it worked!!!

I followed the "Scary Sharp Edge" tutorial video to sharpen the hatchet found in the Love Shack.

Here's a photo of the hatchet needing a bit of sharpening TLC:

Here's my setup. I followed the tutorial example by having multiple, varied grits of sandpaper and applied it to both sides of the hatchet while it was clamped-down to the table.

Here's the finished, sharpened hatchet head. The pit is gone and the rest of the blade is finished nice, clean, and sharp:

Will be cleaning up the rest of it soon. It was very dull to start and now cuts paper well.
Thanks Mike! This is my first bb

Found this old rusty hatchet in the workshop with a few dents and a decent layer of rust. Time for an upgrade!

Used three grades of whetstone and my little slow moving electric wheel.
