Cook Grain on a Stove Top - PEP BB food.sand.grain.stove

I used the Rocket stove top in Cooper Cabin to cook two cups of oatmeal for breakfast for myself and a friend who I met at the Garden Master event.

Recipe:
Two cups rolled oats
4 cups water
Dash of salt

1 cup dry quinoa + 3 cups broth = 2 cups cooked quinoa

I cooked a kilogram of rice with dinner. Jasmine rice and water.

Quinoa cooked on the stovetop in a stainless steel pan. The last photo has a 1 cup measuring cup for size comparison, to show it's at least 2 cups.

Time to start my grain-cooking adventure. Lacking equipment for some of the others, so here's the electric stove for now. If any of our UK Permies are in the southwest UK and have a rocket stove, I'd love to hear from you!

Rice, water, salt, boil. Enamelled cast iron saucepan. Nothing too wild as it was going into a richly flavoured sauce.

I used two cups of brown rice, two cups of water, and a dash of olive oil.
