POST 203 (DAY 213, Wednesday, 2021.3.10)
[Morning Entry]

.. slept early for the past two nights.. it seems I’m caught up on restfulness.. yesterday, I jogged up to the volcano, and two other boots totally joined me on my adventure.. we chatted a little, between our short bursts of exercising our respective heart rates.. jog, walk, jog, walk.. rhythm..

POST 204 (DAY 214, Thursday, 2021.3.11)
[Morning Entry]

..yesterday, E and I finished the box truck shelving.. so much fun to work with her chill attitude and friendly/fun personality.. luckily it wasn’t too slippery of mud in the morning because it was still firm from the precious night’s cold.. the afternoon was a bit different...... L and M and I were slipping around in the mud on the way up to the lab.. we packed up toots and hoped for the best.. after almost falling into a ditch and getting stuck and unstuck a few times, M tracked a path that was mostly gravel for toots to ride on.. it took some finessing of the gas pedal to find a “sweet spot” where friction and slippage balanced just enough to allow some Forward Velocity (hmmm.. interesting..!.. whaaat??.. yup another real life situation metaphor~~!.. anyway..).. we made it up to a sharp turn where slipping happened again.. so we took the other driveway into the boneyard, got the stuff all unloaded.. then headed back down to create a list of the items now residing in the box truck, that came from the shop.. it was mostly the bolts and screws that N donated a little while back.. all in all, a very safe and fun day.. because it’s fun to finish with friends..

POST 205 (DAY 215, Friday, 2021.3.12)
[Morning Entry] ::ESSENCE::

.. it’s the reason I’m here.. to be human again.. to know that I am love.. yesterday, a boot was having a troublesome time working with the table saw.. the wood was not passing through the machine very smoothly because it’s wet from being fresh milled.. this boot’s previous history of being around heavy machinery in conjunction with the not-smoothness of the saw became overwhelming.. they needed a break from the scene.. came back and shared their conclusion of wanting to not use the table saw at all.. I could tell it was a very emotional decision they had made, so I offered a hug to this new friend in a vulnerable state.. I looked them in the eyes and told them I’m proud of them for voicing their stance.. they expressed that they didn’t want me to work with the sticky saw either in concern for my safety as well.. how brave and considerate is this human?! <3
.. if there’s one thing that’s more important to me than the work, it’s the people.. gardening gardeners.. what’s a garden without the gardeners?.. when a teammate needs support, I want to be able to prioritize the human.. and here at Wheaton Labs, I feel supported, and I know the work will get done.. in my mind, the garden will happen when the gardeners are gardened..

[Afternoon Entry]

.. a tiny tribute to all she does.. our dear Lara-ness.. the day seems longer when the morning is long.. instead of packing in the evening schedule with plans (like I used to do), these days, I plan to rise early and partake in soul building.. today’s morning was extra early because we saw Josiah off at the airport.. so I got up around 3am to do my morning routine, to leave by 5am.. until 11am, Lara and I ran errands around town.. admittedly, she did most of the work, and I simply tagged along.. what a rockstar.. I have a feeling something very positive will happen here at WL in the near future.. in no small part played by this magical human..

POST 207 (DAY 217, Sunday, 2021.3.14)
[Morning Entry] ::MAGIC::

.. “do you believe in magic?” We discussed briefly, over breakfast.. pancakes and lingonberry sauce.. I used to think magic was tricky illusion; and that REAL MAGIC was merely a fanciful thing for the belief of fools’ spendings.. nowadays, I’m a fool who believes in real magic..!!.. its more of an emotional knowing than a logical understanding.. and that’s probably why it didn’t click or resonate for me in the past..
.. these days as I emphasize more focus on my being and the importance of feelings (rather than emphasizing logic), magic becomes more real in experience.. wow.. just simply wow.. wow is how magic is explained..
.. I’m being somewhat vague on purpose for sake of anonymity..

A touch that
knocks them
unconscious
  A voice that
  Tickles the room’s
  Laughter
A scent that
Hugs lungs
Closed eyes
An open heart
  Timing sings
  In chorus
  Faintly fading
Savor

POST 208 (DAY 218, Monday, 2021.3.15)
[Morning Entry]

.. yesterday was “pi[e]” day.. I ate some.. and it was pretty yummy.. but was it yummy because of the sharing of the experience with the others in the community? .. there we were.. 6 or 7 of us in one room playing trivia question game about Einstein and Mathematical Pi.. while indulging in a sugary gooey crusty treat.. my favorite pie was the homemade pecan.. a close second was the vegan gluten free tart cherry.. surprisingly huckleberry third, followed by strawberry rhubarb.. thanks Lara for making it happen.. it’s moments like this that make a mark, subtly, gleefully.. in the community..
.. we labor to give birth to beautiful things here.. there’s inherent joy in the labor.. and then there’s dessert.. a celebration of a milestone reached.. that’s all we really do isn’t it—reach?.. stretch.. feel.. accept.. enjoy.. shine.. the voice that might say that I’m not reaching “enough” is a distraction from simply showing up as me.. growth is the byproduct of reaching.. and perfection is an idea.. so reach.. and celebrate that you have reached.. I praise your effort, and encourage your discipline of practicing your excellence, dear reader and self..!!’
