Congratulations Clayton! Thanks for all the pictures and info, and for enhancing the restoration of your little corner of the earth.
Edit: Oh, and I sent my pledge today.

Nicole, I did $25 three times when I had pledged twice. Oops! So put me down for $25 three more times. I really appreciate the purple moosages when a boot "rings the bell" as a reminder to make good on my pledge. Thanks Greg!

Who are the boots now who have their thread on Permies, but did not yet reach the 100 posts (with photos)?
Or aren't there any new boots, or not posting pictures?

Dez is still posting daily.

Jen and Josiah seem to be posting less frequently.  I think this is because the coin in the BRK is a little low, and the time to put pics up every day when doing everything else can be a bit much.

It sounds like there are a total of 4 people who'll be at Wheaton Labs for Christmas: Jen, Josiah, Dez and Scott (5 if you count Paul). There's 5 people who are currently part of Bootcamp but are visiting family, etc, for the holidays.

So, a total of 4-9 people (5-10 if you count the big man in overalls).

I hope that helps!

We just had an awesome anonymous donor--going by "Permie Fan"--who's pledged $300 each for the next five BRKs! Thank you SO MUCH, Permie Fan!!!

This brings our total back up to $945--at one point we had over $1,500! There's been a few boots who've completed the BRK...only to leave in search of a worky job to earn some cash. This is a big bummer, because those Boots were awesome leaders, workers, and communicators! You can see the BRK Hall of Fame here. Maybe if we can get the BRK back up, we could draw these people back to Wheaton Labs and really move permaculture forward!!!

I just got an email from somebody that has been a huge backer of many permies and wheaton labs things over the years.  At this time he is listed as "anonG".

He is adding a $1000 pledge, plus will pledge another $1000 as a match for future pledges!    So if we can get $1000 in new pledges, that will bring the total for the BRK up to $3945 plus care packages!

There's a new Boot in the running for the BRK! Check out Jen Tuuli's Bootcamp Experience. She goes by Nine, because she's the 9th Jen at Wheaton Labs! I'm loving all the awesome things she's been doing, from fixing up broken tools, to get awesome pictures of all the action, to insulating the Love Shack!

I am acting as the middle man for three parties:

$100 anon963
$250 Dr H
$1000 anonG
$85 matching funds from anonG

So I am sending dez $1435.

And I have modified the first post to show that Dr. H has just 3 times left.

We,Eric Von Raderson and Ms Barb, do pledge $1.00 for one photo of each tool or item showing it being used by a boot, that was donated by Barb and I and is put on Erics thread. (look the thread up) To a limit of 100 photos. If and when the 100 photos are met, we also will donate $100.00 to our very close friend, the guy that wears overalls and does not like to step in dog poo.
Staff note (Nicole Alderman) :

I added your pledge!

An anonymous donor just pledged $10,000 for each boot that posts 700 BRK posts for up to 3 people.  A total of $30,000.  And because it is such a large amount, the donor has transferred the funds for the first $10,000 to me, and will transfer the rest in the next two weeks.

So, it is very real.

$10,000 for 700 BRK posts.

He said that this would be at about the same time a person hits their two year mark - so they would have some operating capital with their fresh acre.

I've been really enjoying these posts.  I'm in for $50 while I'm still doing my worky job.  Can I make it retroactive for current boots?  Where do I send the money?

I'm pondering things which could be added and was wondering about trail cameras or static cameras which could be placed in different spots on the lab, to either take pictures of the wildlife or the kind which take a picture once a day at say noon, or more frequently, so you can then use software to create a time lapse. For example if a project is being worked on (say a section of junkpole fence, or thinning a piece of forest to get those junk poles) a camera could be set back far enough to see the whole project space and set to take a picture every X seconds, then made into a video. For example:

I could see having a camera to watch for annual water flows, or maybe setting a few to watch an area taking a picture every 15 minutes which would give an interesting time lapse of plants growing or creeks coming/going with rain.

Then also having some where boots/ants have seen wildlife, to get pictures of what we normally don't see with standard static motion sensor shots.

I'd be willing to bring several cameras with me to the PDC/PTJ and offer a bounty for a series of photos or time lapse videos, but I think Paul would need to ok having cameras added to approved spots on the lab.
