I used the soap Paul provided, Oasis Biocompatible Dish Cleaner to clean up after a Blueberry-Day Steak Dinner

Would either of these soaps work?

I saved up lots of dishes to make sure I would have enough to fill the dishwasher, but I might have saved up too many because I couldn’t fit them in very well. The jug is one gallon, so I did less then three of those between the two sinks.

This was one of the longest and most mindful dish washing experience I had. So greatfull for what I learned from it!
1) I use a lot of water just rinsing my hands clean, something I can easily accomplish with a towel instead
2) I need just a tiny bit of water dripping to rinse the dishes

 It took me two batches of dishwashing to meet the dishwasher load goal. The first batch I calculated to be less than 1.72 gallons of water with the radius’s of the sink. The second batch was just under 1.25 gallons of water.
 I’m currently using seventh generation dish soap. It meets all of Australia’s standards and requirements for graywater use. Here’s the link. https://www.seventhgeneration.com/blog/dos-and-donts-greywater-systems.

In the pic with the 2 bowls, one is soapy water (also used to catch rinse water for large items), which measured about 11 cups, and the other is the rinse water, which I filled to the 12 cup line at the beginning.

Yay! I love the badges for stuff we do everyday anyways! We have 4 people in the house plus the pets from 3 households combined when our house holds well, combined. I think the pets use more dishes then us sometimes! So this is half a days worth of dishes. The soap is this concoction of bar homemade just lye soap that  I buy then grate and add hot (not boiling) water to. Its the same process for making liquid laundry soap. I also use lemon vinegar to wipe down the sink and any medicine dispensers and salt to scrub stubborn pots and pans if necessary. We have a experimental targeted dispensing greywater system so its extra important that we use good cleaners. If you need a better picture of what we use for soap i completely understand but also will have to wait cause I currently am out of the bar soap I use to make the liquid stuff :(

I have no running water or dishwasher, so this is just my normal dish routine.

The soap I usually get at someplace like TJMaxx ...shopping carefully I can find a biodegradable pure soap.  This was a dr. Bonners soap.  I dilute with water

Here is my sink full of dishes and an empty dishwasher to start:



First I stacked them all up neatly and grouped like with like.



The wash basin (from the dollar store) holds 2 gallons. I filled it up halfway (so this is 1 gallon - I started with a little less than half and then added a tad more after I put the dishes in)



I made this 2 gallon stock pot my rinse water by filling it halfway (so 1 more gallon, that's 2 so far). About halfway through dishes I replaced the water (another gallon, so that's 3 gallons in total).



I filled the wash basin with all the small things.
