This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Homesteading. (Note that this BB is part of a three-part choose your own adventure list BB called Big List. You must complete three Badge Bits in the Big List.)

In this Badge Bit, you will sand, prime, and paint at least a 4 inch rusty patch on a piece of equipment.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:

      - at least 4 square inches (about 2 inches by 2 inches)

Rusty shovel, triangle hoe, rake, pitchfork, Pulaski all sanded down, primed, and painted. Maybe not all tools in every picture but the end result is there. I'll be painting the handles green when I buy some more paint. Maybe next month.
I included the half painted shovel in red. My stepson came out just as I started and said that it looked like I had stabbed someone with it.

Yesterday I corrected a rusty portion of my cart. I sanded until I ran out grit on my tool. An additional piece of equipment I should have used is a long sleeve shirt. It was very sunny, but not hot enough to get me thinking, and now my arms are burned. I'll probably never learn.

Here is my submission for the Homesteading Aspect - Sand - Sand, Prime, and Paint Rusty Equipment BB.

I used a wire wheel and grinding disk to remove the rust then primed and painted a section of the bucket on an electric tractor at Wheaton Labs during the SkIP Event 2021.  Three of us did the project so you'll see three sections - mine is the farthest to the left.

To document the completion of the BB, I have provided the following:
   - a before picture of the rusty equipment
   - a picture after sanding
   - a picture after priming
   - a picture after painting
