I tried the wd-40 white lithium spray thanks to Mike.
I agree it has very little smell even when directly on my hands it has a very faint smell similar to the white coolant/lubricant on metal lathes and mills.

This bathroom door was driving me crazy because it squeaked and woke up the kids everytime I had to get up after getting them down for the night.

Now it is free swinging with a beautiful chorus of silence.

I think this would have worked without pulling the pins but I wanted to go ahead and get a good coating.

I found that shaking the can made for a finer application in the barrel and not shaking allowed me to gob it on the pin before reinserting. Residual squirted out of the separations and was easy to wipe away with a wet rag.

Oiled hinges on one of our kitchen cabinets that has squeaked for the past ten years that we have lived here. It is just below our bedroom so I hear it when I’m trying to sleep.
If I’d known it was this simple, or I guess paid attention to do something about it, I would have done this years ago.
I used coconut oil since it’s what I had on hand.

I used coconut oil to grease the hinges. No more squeaking. I have a video of the greased hinges if the pics don't suffice.

My hall closet creaks like my front door so I can't tell the difference. I want to leave the front door creaky so I can tell when it's opened ... for security.

This is an old hinge in our porch that is used dozens of times per day. I gathered a long screw to hold the halves in place while lubing, a pair of pliers, some bacon fat, and a rag. I first pulled the pin from the hinge while the door was closed and temporarily inserted the screw to keep it from falling apart. I then dipped the pin in some softened bacon fat then reinserted it into the hinge. I then wiped it all down with the old rag.

My bathroom door was getting very creaky so I applied some coconut oil to the hinges. I left it for a couple of hours and now there's no squeak!

I greased the garden gate hinges. The post needs some cement to straighten it up, but a bit of grease rarely goes amiss. I used spreadable butter as the grease, which is edible and solid at room temperature.
