Is it weird that I'm more excited getting a pie than for all those strech goodies? Don't get me wrong, I'm really excited about the goodies, soooo many good stuff there and I can't wait to dig in. But seing that slice... I had a moment of extreme happiness.

The Andrés brothers will make a flipbook animation to put in the margins of the book.  Five backers will get their likeness mashed into the animations.

When the kickstarter is over we'll ask folks if they want their likeness mashed into an illustration in the book.  And we'll ask if they want their likeness made into a flip book.  For all the people who are into the flip book thing, we will select the top 5 backers.  For all the people into the illustration thing we will select the top 20 people that aren't already in the flip book thing.

I really enjoyed watching this film. You can see my review here. Basically the video goes around the word showcasing various permaculture farms and communities that are building resilience to transition to a life-style without fossil fuels.

Yes!  So in effect 5 people get to be flip book characters (old school animation?) and that also mean 5 more people get to have their likeness in the book.  Win win!

Judging by how there is still one Goofball spot ($300), and there are only 26 Goofball or higher spots, it kinda might suggest how much it might take to have a chance at one of the top 25 spots...

If I've read the numbers right, this kickstarter is second only to the Building a Better World book, which brought in $153,983.

I think it would be so cool if we broke that record!

Yee-haw! Another stretch goal met. Now everyone will be getting the Voices of Transition documentary!

Here's the summary:

Voices of Transition presents innovative, inspirational – and concrete – solutions to the food security challenges we humans increasingly face. It explores agroforestry models in France, permaculture and TRANSITION TOWN initiatives in England and the organic farming revolution in Cuba.

If you've ever wondered "What in the world is a Transition Town," and wondered what the Transition Town forum here on permies was about, this video is a great introduction. I learned a lot while watching it!

I think this is so cool! I'm really excited to see who ends up getting to be in the flipbook animations, and what they'll be doing. My favorite books when I was a kid had little flip book images on the corner (my favorite was of a flower blooming), and I think it'll be the neatest thing if we can have that in the SKIP book!
