There's about 1400 people backing the kickstarter for less than $65.  And most of those are at the $10 level.  I have a small hope that about  50 people will raise their backer level this morning and BAM!  We hit the next stretch goal.  And then we repeat that about a dozen times!

Okay, I just upped my pledge to $65. I was holding out at the 2 physical books level, because that's all I wanted; one for myself and one for a giveaway on my blog. I don't want to mess with eBooks, nor six physical copies plus shipping, so I opted for the $65 level with no reward. Supporting the project is the most important thing here, and I'm happy to do that! Permies does so much for everyone, it's worthy of our best support.

I especially like the trending feature. It's nice to know what you might be looking at.
Are these usually accurate or fairly close?

My limited experience with it is that it's a wild guess

Early on in the kickstarter it predicted over $300K.  My guess is that if we achieve another stretch goal or two the "sprint to the finish" will only get stronger.  At least that's what I'm telling myself...

Thanks for your support, this has been a wild ride!

Someone cancelled their order, dropping us just below $112,000.  But we just bounced back above so I'm going to say:

                 $112,020!

I could tell you but wouldn't that spoil the surprise?

Let's play a game.  It's an ebook.  And the author lives on an island.  Can you guess?  More clues as we get closer.....

Rules:
  • You only get one guess before the goal is announced
  • At that point everyone learns the right answer
  • The earliest correct guess wins!

Mike Haasl wrote:Hi Jerry, your missive is delightful.  I'll focus on the SKIP part of your post.

There are a couple ways to avoid the expensive shipping.  One way is to only back at the $15 level to get the eBook.  The other way is to back at the $65 level or higher and select US Virgin Islands as your location.  Then you need to only select electronic goodies when we send you a survey after the kickstarter.  By doing that you don't have to pay any shipping.

We realize you live in Canada but for purposes of activating the "Free shipping for Electronic Goodies" approach you have to tell kickstarter you're in the Virgin Islands.

Is that relatively clear?  Thanks for backing!!!

    Mike:

I was typing about the problems I was having; hopefully that did not get posted. When I reread my 'message' I saw something, went back into the Kickstarter link and was able to increase my support from $25 USD + $25 USD shipping to $65USD with no shipping. At that minute it showed as $80.02 CDN. Apparently the exchange rate moved in my favour since my initial support. I'll take the chance that the exchange rate will not move too much by May 2.

In addition to budget restrictions I was only looking for the 'benefits' of the $45 USD level. I do not need you to include my name in any of the books.

I will want to review the 18 e-books and let you know if there are some that I won't be needing. How would I do that; when would I need to do that; and how would I let you know if there are e-books that could be 'given' to others?

Thank you so much for helping me support what I think is a worthy cause.
    Sincerely
    Jerry Beattie

Hi JK, once the kickstarter is over, we'll be able to send all the backers a survey (think of it like an order form).  When you get that you can select ebooks vs physical, how many you want to go to the Knights who say Free, what your actual address is and other details.

I just realized (thanks to a note from a lovely lady) that the $115k stretch goal was announced on the Kickstarter page but wasn't posted here yet.  So here it is:

Now for the $120k stretch goal...  What is it?  I wonder?  Hmm, let's play a guessing game......  Same rules as above (1 guess, more hints as we approach 115k, we won't confirm the answer until it's officially announced, first answer wins)

I can't find the email with the list of stretch goals.
I see one on here, but it has a brown (not easiest to read) background.
I'd love to have a plain text form to send out.

    Hi Leigh,
Just checking in on your reward level?  Did you change your level to support with no reward?

Did you know, you can change your reward level to $65 and set the shipping location to Virgin Islands (and pay $0 in shipping if you only want digital stuff) or your location (and get only two books if you want).  You can give the extra books to a group of volunteers that will share them (knights who say free) or give away the codes on your blog. Those details will be sorted out during the "backer survey" after the Kickstarter closes.

I want you to get the rewards you want without getting overwhelmed by all the goodies.

Ahh, so it's just projecting support over the life dependent on the supports so far. Yeah, that's only close to accurate toward the end.
To bad. With the kickstarters you have done you have a wealth of data. To bad they can't make good use of that.

Thanks Opalyn! I appreciate that. I would like two physical books. And I'm guessing there will be a huge demand for the eBooks. I'll take another look at it.
