I did the dishes this morning. Used our new fancy soap (Ecover) which says it is biodegradable. I start with hot water in the biggest bowl of the washing session (3L in this case), then dump it out and rinsed into it to show the accumulated rinse water. In total about a gallon of water used. I stacked the dishes pretty high in the rack but if that isn't enough I can do another round. The bowl I washed and rinsed in was rinsed out and added to the drying rack after the last picture was taken to prove the volume of water used...
Edit: Did dishes again tonight to get the total quantity up a bit higher. See new photos below...
