We often make this for upset tummies in our house. Sometimes we even inoculate with probiotic and bottle it for a fizz. Does it have to come from ginger I harvested? I don't think it grows in Idaho. But we purchase it fresh. If the counts for a BB, then here are my pics.

Can I make an infusion with fresh ginger leaves? I grow my own ginger and it’s not ready for harvesting, however, I do use the leaves as an aromatic in cooking. Thanks.

Mandatory I got this ginger from the store, seeing as ginger sadly does not grow well in Norway.

I chopped the ginger and put in a pot with water.
Boiled it up and let it infuse for 7 minutes under a lid.
Straight into cup, including all the bits since I really like chewing on them.
Added a dash of the syrup I made just before making the infusion.

Tastes alright, and helped clear out my clogged nostrils with its gingeriness!

Lately I've been making a decoction in larger amounts but when I run out I might make a single cup infusion like this. Store bought organic ginger as mine is only being planted for the first time today. 1 cup of water to 1 heaped tablespoon of finely chopped ginger. Brough to the boil then lid on and let steep for 5-10 mins. A warming cuppa with a kick!

My Ginger Infusion is this morning's cup of tea.

Grated the ginger and added to boiling water.
Allowed to infuse for 10 minutes.
Poured the entire infusion into a cup as a tea.

Yum!  Ginger tea!  It'll clear the sinuses!

Created an infusion by steeping in hot water for ten minutes. Delightful with a spoonful of honey. Opens the lungs right up in my experience.

I've tried to grow ginger root for the last several years with no luck, so this is from the shops. I'm just a bit too far out of the subtropics to make it work without a hothouse.

Made a couple of very concentrated infusions, one with old root nodules (in the jar) and one with younger root (in the measuring cup).

They burn a bit but it's worth it!
