Hi Christina! The message about being at the $25 level was an accident. It was supposed to go out to just those at the $25, but accidentally went out to everyone.

If kickstarter says you're at the $65 level, then you are! If you want, you could post a screenshot of what you're seeing there, and we can verify for you that you're at the level you want to be.

We're really sorry about any and all confusion!

Cristina and anyone else 😊
This is how I checked my pledge and backer level.
I clicked on Rewards (between Campaign and FAQ).
Good way to double check what backer level kickstarter has you in.

This is one of the best ideas I've ever heard and I'm proud to be a part of it.

I was wondering if any of the additional books/magazines that weren't notated as e-books were actually physical copies?

Thank everyone so much for all of the hard work that went into this. May nothing but kindness and good fortune precede you for the rest of your lives.

Oh, we can start up the stretch goal guessing game again!

We'll put out clues about every $500 or so

You get 1 guess per stretch goal

We won't say if anyone got it right or wrong until the next goal is officially announced

Earliest correct guess wins something

Paul Fookes wrote:Thanks one and all for your hard work and stretch goals.  Love your art work Nicole.  Would like one of your sketches as a stretch.  Just putting it out there?

Nicole Alderman wrote:Thank you both!  I just wanted to make sure credit went where credit is due--the people who made the cover and video are Bernal Brothers Studio. You can see Andrés Bernal posting here. He and his brother have been working really hard at drawing the cover and inside pictures, that they probably haven't had more time to post here in the thread. I'm thankful for both of them, because I certainly don't have enough time to do all they're doing! It takes a ton of time to make so many little people and details that are in the cover, and they're doing a great job!All I've done is take their artwork and move (and sometimes alter it slightly) to match the stretch goal and reward images on Kickstarter, and make all those banners and images. So, I'm very much doing the "graphics" stuff, while they're doing the drawing!  You can see some of their sketches here .

Thank you Nicole for walking us through the process and your credit of the Bernal Brothers.  Still, they are fabulous drawings and I would like to have one as a stretched goal or even have the ability to buy one.  When Hanna Barbera started selling their original artwork, they added and authentication signature to prevent fraud. Here is an example of what is out there for HB: https://bookpalace.com/acatalog/info_BarberaSBTC1.html#SID=407 Between the Bernal Brothers, Nicole Alderman, Paul and Mike, perhaps we can get limited print runs of a few plates to add to the money pool, encouraging people to seek a better planet.  As a friend said: "There is no Planet B

Looking great! Awesome graphic, what a great bunch of extra goodies and they keep piling up!! Really liking the woodboard pattern. Maybe you can play a bit more with the theme and make the words as if they’d been burnt on it but that might be a bit extra. It’s a bit hard to identify what each image means but recalled the one you made that includes the title and values so maybe merging the two of them can make it even more clear and add even more info so people see all the stuff they’re getting in the category that you see each fits the best.

Just played a bit with the burning approach to see how it could be made and came up with the image attached. I duplicated all the layers on top of the wood and rasterized the text, colored in dark red the behind shadow layers, put it in overlay mode and added some Gaussian blur. Finally added a bit of opacity to the layers up front so the wood texture could be seen behind. Just setting the text and images to a soft light mode or linear burn can work too.

I used to make $300 per hour.

Now ....  At the end of the year I will crunch the numbers and it will turn out that I made 80 cents an hour.

Hearing you Paul loud and clear,
We make jams in batches of between 1 and 2 litres (2 - 4.5 pints) or less than 7 jars and after costs, we get about $4 per jar.  With two of us doing the prep and making it, it is about 30 cents per hour between us.
Once we have enough honey to ditch the sugar, we will make even less per hour given the time input for extraction and bee management.
The truth is that we really do it for the love and to make a difference to someone else's food experience.  There is absolutely no "profit" and we would go broke trying.

Keep up the great work. Thanks is not enough for what the collective group of stewards, gardeners, the Gir Bot, you and Mike are doing to get the word out there.

The money from the kickstarters:

  - subsidizes our events
  - subsidizes this website (permies.com)
  - keeps the dozen people here at wheaton labs fed
  - pays for materials for projects (some of which turn into future kickstarters)

For the kickstarters, I end up keeping zero.

Thanks Cory!  All the stretch goals are digital items.  It's hard to fit all the info in those pretty graphics but they almost always are links to the actual item so you can learn more about them.

Monthly-ish going out now:

It's now or never!  The package dealio ends when the kickstarter ends.

What a joy ride!  So many people with so many kind words!  And so many people putting actual coin in.  Thanks thanks thanks all you fantastic people!

I think this book will lead to massive, global change.  Mike and I have heard from dozens of people with land that are excited about this program.  And we are seeing a lot more people documenting their SKIP achievements since the kickstarter began.

And ...  this is our most massive pile of stretch goals we have ever had for any kickstarter.  The mega list:

 - Sepp Holzer's movie "Desert or Paradise" ($10 value)
 - David Pagan Butler's movie "Make a Natural Swimming Pool" ($15 value)
 - Ben Peterson's "Wood Gasifier Builder’s Bible" as an eBook ($29 value)
 - Mike Oehler's "$50 and Up Underground House Book" as an eBook ($10 value)
 - All 117 hours of the video from Permaculture Voices 1, 2 and 3 ($99 value)
 - Tony Wrench's eBook "A Simple Roundhouse Manual" ($20 value)
 - Leigh Tate's eBook "5 acres and a Dream - the Book" ($10 value)
 - Green Planet Films movie "Abundance on Dry Land" ($10 value)
 - Michael Judd's webinar "Water Harvesting and Soil Building" ($45 value)
 - Living Woods Magazine - all 55 issues ($35 value)
 - Robert Kourik's eBook "Roots Demystified" ($12 value)
 - Best of Mother Earth News 2018 - 196 pages ($10 value)
 - World Domination Gardening 3-movie set ($28 value)
 - 20 backers get their likeness worked into the illustrations (infinite value)
 - Lynn Gillespie's eBook "High Performance Gardening" ($29 value)
 - Erica Wisner's Greenhouse Rocket Mass Heater plans ($20 value)
 - Justin Rhodes' movie "Permaculture Chickens" ($29 value)
 - Kate Downham's ebook "A Year in an Off-grid Kitchen" ($10 value)

And, in addition to that, several people will get event tickets:

 - 6 tickets to the 2021 SKIP event ($1250 value)
 - 6 tickets to the 2021 Permaculture Technology Jamboree ($1650 value)
 - 6 tickets to the 2021 Rocket Mass Heater Jamboree ($1650 value)
 - 6 tickets to the 2022 Garden Master Certification Course ($1150 value)

And the next stretch goal is the beautiful movie about the cold climate permaculture farm and community managed by Richard Perkins called "Gracie's Backyard",

Thanks again for putting the wind in the sails of our community!

I had upgraded my level from  $25 to $65 several weeks ago.  However, I just got an email that I was pledged higher but NOT at the $65 level.  When I log into kickstarter, it appears that I AM at the higher level.  Can someone with access look and confirm that I am at the $65 level?  I tried to inquire through the kickstarter app, but there does not seem to be any function to write for help.  Thanks.

Hi Roy, that "$25 message" was accidentally sent to everyone so it's caused a bunch of confusion.  If you are fairly sure you're at the right level, odds are you are all set.  Sorry for the trouble!

Roy,

The level of information kickstarter gives us right now is a bit limited, but I did some extra fishing ... and I found YOUR backer info.  You are all set at the $65 backer level. Confirmed.

The next stretch goal is Larisa Walk and Bob Dahse's ebook "Feeding Ourselves"

This is a very detailed ebook on growing and storing/preserving food for your homestead.  It doesn't focus on meat and there is a lot of great legume info.

Let's get some guessing going for the next stretch goal.

Rules again are that you get one guess, the first correct guess wins something and we won't say if anyone was right or wrong until the official announcement.

That would be a good guess based just on the hint.  I'll point out though that the bundle of Permaculture Voices volumes 1,2, and 3 is already a stretch goal we got!!  How awesome is that?!
