I had a dress that had gone threadbare, and an old coat that didn't fit anyone, so I reclaimed the buttons for my jar.

The textiles department in my house is a complete mess. A buttonjar is a good place to start getting things organized!

Chose a jar, added the buttons I already had (I think I found them all?), and then took the buttons of some clothes that were not wanted/needed.

I prefer to only have wooden buttons, but at the moment I try to keep everything that is usable. Coming winter, I might have a go at making my own wooden buttons! If I succeed, I won't need the plastic and metal ones anymore. I am okay with metal, but they become too hot in summer!

Excited to be starting my PEP journey and to have my two girls starting with me. I'll be creating accounts for them shortly and putting in their submissions soon. I'm assuming it's ok for me to help them submit it as long as they've done all the practical part? PEP is the perfect motivator for us to check things off as we learn them, and I'm excited to see there's lots that they're already capable of attempting. My scissor loving 4yo enjoyed this one.

This is a shirt i'll be upcycling into some toddler overalls or flat caps. I used both scissors and a seam ripper.
Button container has been in use for a while, occasionally sorted by colour until the kids get into it. I'm constantly finding buttons around the house to add to it.

I bought a couple sun dresses to replace a favorite one that wore out.  Unfortunately, they were polyester.  So uncomfortable!  Anyway, never wore them and never will.  Perfect candidate for button recycling.  Button Jar!
