Replace a Faucet - PEP BB plumbing.sand.replacefaucet

I knocked this BB out today!  The basement bathroom needed the sink removed and reinstalled (yes, there's a BB for that too).  Since it's a pedestal sink, changing the faucet out is much easier while the sink is out.  So I upgraded the faucet today.

Here is my submission for the Replace a Faucet - Sand (Big List) - Plumbing BB.

To document the completion of the BB, I have provided:
1   - a before picture of the old faucet
2&3   - a halfway picture through the installation of the new faucet
4   - an action shot of the new faucet working
 

Had to do an emergency replacement. Thankfully the landlord paid for the parts.

I installed a kitchen faucet and sink in my tiny home. It was pretty fun to hook it all up and turn water on. Presto! real life magic.

The tap in one of the bathrooms needed replacement, so I swapped it out for a new one.

Old kitchen sink started to leak around the top, so time to replace.

I replaced a faucet to make this sink more functional.

Replaced an old faucet which was loose and difficult to clean around!

I replaced my kitchen faucet. It was leaking from various places for a long time. This was my first real foray into plumbing work. It was incredibly intimidating, and therefore I feel an immense sense of accomplishment. I got some help from lovely forum members: https://permies.com/t/191377/newbie-valve-stuck.

To recap the experience:
I almost called a plumber to do it because I was scared of even messing with it in the first place.
I almost called a plumber when I couldn't turn the hot water valve off.
I almost called a plumber when I couldn't get the old faucet off... twice.
I did call a plumber when I thought the new faucet hoses were too short to connect to the supply pipes, but the lady that answered said they weren't in business anymore, so I sat back down and looked at the parts again. I managed to measure the bend in the flexihose a little more carefully and found that it was actually alright.
I kept at it and completed the installation and now have a new functioning kitchen faucet that doesn't leak!

I replaced a kitchen faucet today because the mounting nut would not tighten properly to keep it from rotating. This was one of those “what were they thinking when they designed this” type of days because there was really no effective way to tighten or loosen this faucet, so I had to cut the bottom off with a dremel cutoff wheel.  I also had to remove the garbage disposal and drain plumbing to have room to work under the sink.  So that’s what the extra pictures are showing. Anyhow, here is my submission:

The faucet that came with this sink was so low profile that it was difficult to fit a glass under the faucet, not to mention a tea pot, so I changed the faucet to a taller one.  Also, this sink only has cold water supply, so no need for hot and cold handles.

Our old tub faucet was rusty, leaky, and squeaky. It rally needed replaced. so We replaced it. The pipes were tightened super tight, but I was eventually able to detach them. from then on it was simple, and now we have a new shiny, non-squeaky, non-leaky faucet.

I replaced my utility sink, faucet, supply lines, and both shut off valves today. Here are the pictures of the faucet.

We had a dysfunctional faucet in our bathroom, so it was high time to fix it. We had leaks from the head of the faucet, base, and underneath. Now we have none.

This faucet kicked my butt. To say it was stuck and (in my opinion) poorly designed is putting it mildly. This project started on Monday. I had a rough week at the day job so it waited until Friday to get finished.

I ended up using a hack saw, hammer and chisel and cut the facet in pieces to get it off.

Just replaced my first tap!
