Ok, I was hauling stuff around today so the missus helped me video this BB.  The first time I tested the lights (hand outside the window) she was giving a thumbs up or down as I indicated which light I was testing.  As you can tell, the lights weren't working (at that time).  After backing into the parking spot, the lights were working so I showed off for a bit.

Staff note (Steve Thorn) :

I certify this BB is complete!

Would a full sized van work instead of a truck?

Since a van is harder to back than a truck my opinion is that it is acceptable. I think it meets the intent of the BB.

What if the trailer doesn't have lights connected (ie day legal but not night legal?)

A handy thing to have is some of those pre-wired, magnetic lights used for pulling another vehicle. They can be used temporarily on an offroad trailer that would normally get lights torn off off-road, or carried in an emergency auto kit in case a trailer or auto light gets busted or you decide to pull or haul unusual items. Or for getting badges!

Here’s my post for reversing a trailer for 100ft. It was more challenging than I was expecting. That’s mostly due to the fact that I had no visibility out the back of the backup vehicle.

Here’s the video:

I backed a trailer attached to a van 100ft! The first thing I did while connecting was check the lights with Mike's assistance. Then I connected it, drove it, then disconnected it. The section of me connecting it is more sped up than the rest of the video because it took me a bit longer.

Sooooo, i understand that a car and a trailer doesn't fit the bill? I think most motor vehicule aren't easy to drive in reverse... In the wood badge, tractor and other vehicule are accepted for the reverse with the longue trailer...

We drive and pull trailers very often...drove the RV pictured in the video pulling a trailer through the mountains of Colorado all the way to Dallas, Texas.  My wife was scared, but we're alive to tell the story haha  See attached video for a 100' backup example  -

I rented a trailer to haul some material I acquired. I felt too much like a goofball to ask the rental guys to film me backing up, so I chose to do it on my own… this lead to some more challenges, namely with the order of operations.

I’ll include some pics to help explain as well but the short of it is, I had filled the truck bed as well as the trailer, and didn’t want to shimmy beside the trailer an extra 20 feet while carrying blocks, so instead of “hooking up, then backing up, then disconnecting” I disconnected, unloaded the truck, then re-hooked up, and backed into the driveway to store it overnight.

My brain was fuzzy after moving the wood and so I simply trusted the trailer wiring remained intact, as the guys at the rental place did check my lights for me before I pulled away, and they had been working. I came inside to edit and post the video, annnd realized I missed evidence of light testing… so I went back out and filmed that part.

The video is in chronological order, and also includes a turn. Hoping that’s okay for this one!

I don't have access to a trailer, so while at WL, I gave Roy a test drive. I premeasured and marked the 100ft span with sticks. The trailer jack wasn't operable so Stephen helped me safely lift the trailer on and off the hitch; thanks for the help Stephen! I hooked up the trailer tail light wiring and Stephen said that he's never seen the lights work on the trailer before so the lights were tested and they were confirmed to be dysfunctional and in need of repair.

I needed to merge and edit down over 6minutes of video:

The weather warmed up to 34°F and I had access to the truck- BB here I come! I backed a trailer well over 100' because I forgot my tape measure 🤷‍♀️ The trailer I used was very light and short and I got it around a bend.
