It’s that time of year again ...  I am referring to fireworks and the accidents that come with them.   Please do not allow young children to use fireworks.   That should be the job for the adults who have been drinking all day.

A reporter is interviewing a Florida victim of Hurricane Michael. In the background, a scene of complete devastation; the roof is gone, half of the walls are down, personal possessions scattered around. The person looks shell-shocked, with an unfocused gaze. The hair is wild, clothes disheveled, dirt smudges on the face and arms.

"So what are you going to do now?" asks the reporter. "Are you going to rebuild?"

"No," replies the victim. "I'm gonna move to Georgia."

"Georgia? Why Georgia?"

"That's where the rest of my stuff is."

A man who lived by the sea grew a cucumber so large that he was able to turn it into a house. One day a bad storm flooded the area with seawater and damaged his actual home…

Now he’s in a real pickle.

I was driving down the interstate when I came across a sign for the world's largest pickle...
I turned at the next exit and found that there was a whole town around it. Shops, restaurants, even churches devoted to this pickle. When I finally found the museum holding this legendary pickle, I discovered it was closed. Dismayed, I went back to the interstate.

I just never saw what the big dill was.

Amazingly, my great aunt tried to warn everyone the Titanic would sink.  She told the employees, the management, and even everyone as they bought tickets.  No one paid any attention to her.  Finally, they kicked her out of the movie theater.

I live near a very small community, but we do have a library.  I spent some time in it looking for a book on the Jurassic period.  I found nothing.  I went to the librarian for her recommendation for a book, author, anything.... She told me to try Sarah Topps.

I posted elsewhere that I was having pain in my shoulder.  When my knee began to become sore, I made an appointment with my physician.  After much poking and prodding he sat down and quietly stared at his computer screen.  After an eternity of silence I broke down and asked him, “ How do I stand.”  He quietly muttered back “That is what I am trying to figure out.”

The other night I was at a bar and a man there was hopelessly drunk.  I offered him a ride home, and he took me up on it.  He fell several times on the way to my car.  When we reached his home, he fell getting out of the car.  He fell a few more times walking up to his house.  When his wife answered the door, she asked, “Where is his wheel chair?”

My tiny community is trying to pass some silly ordinance prohibiting males from wearing their pants too low.  Fortunately, it is meeting a good deal of opposition from the plumbers union.
