Here's my submission for a crocheted cotton dishcloth. No label because the material's been in a drawer for 20 years or so, but no reason to believe it isn't crochet cotton. It tended to stretch a lot so it ended up a bit longer than 10 inches. (I thought it would shrink, but not yet!)

I actually learned how to knit a few years ago expressly to make dishcloths. I've done a number now, but they are all much smaller than this (3"x5"), making this the largest piece I've knitted yet. I used the needles and linen/cotton blend yarn I already had, meaning I got practice doing work on multiple needles--something I've never done before.

Because the yarn was so fine, this took an embarrassingly long amount of time to knit up, but it's done now!

I see I can't approve a BB here. Because I did not do this BB myself. I knitted a hotpad, with wool and felted.
I think I will crochet a new dishcloth (once, not now) to have this BB too. Although I already have the sand badge. But then I'll be able to approve BBs here too.

First time crocheting, it was a lot of fun to learn! Once I got the hang of it my fingers felt like they were doing some kind of choreographed dance. Tension was probably the trickiest part for me. For the next project I would try using a larger crochet hook for the foundation layer.

That's some nice, even knitting, Pierre! The more you knit, the faster it'll go. Your dishcloth reminded me of the first "scarf" I made...that ended up 12 inches wide and I stopped after about 18 inches because it was taking FOREVER. Now a similar project takes 1, maybe 2 hours.

A new dish towel! I used size five wooden circular needles made by Dyakcraft across the towel but swapped the working needle out for one several sizes larger for the bind-off. I chose the skein of Hipster Cotton from our stash because I like long color changes (which paid off, as you can see.)

I like a dish towel to have some tooth — texture. So, for instance, garter stitch would be better than stockinette but not my favorite. So I found a simple, free pattern on Ravlery where the bulk of the towel uses bamboo stitch.

Here's my submission!
I'm using 100% cotton yarn, and free handing it. It's a bit wider than it is tall. I made it in stockinette, but added a border of double crocheted stitches to deal with the curl that pattern brings- would've done it in moss, but I wanted a smooth and a rough side for cleaning. Also, I used the excess edge yarn to make a loop for hanging.


my yarn, something I already had at home for another project, used size 6 needles, as I just could not find my 5s.



cast on about 10 inches worth- but ended up pulling off a bit later since it was too long.

Eight the next morning



Finally, 10!



I decided to double crochet all along the sides to give it a nicer edge and bring the length up past 10 inches

I knitted this dishcloth during my downtime at work, or when I was teaching pupils how to knit. I don't usually knit my dishcloths this large so I'm still working out where it will work best in my household!

I used green cotton yarn and I think 6mm circular needles. I ran out of the original yarn partway through and couldn't wait so used some of the cotton scraps from my 'knit at work' bag until I could bring in more of the green from home. The finished piece is approx 11" by 18". :)

Crotcheted a dishcloth. I used 100% cotton yarn I found at the thrift store, and my 4.5mm crotchet hook was incidentally the same colour! It measures a little over 10 inches.

Although I already have the Textile Sand Badge, I did not yet do the dishcloth BB. It wasn't needed, because I did the hotpad. I did knit some dishcloths, but didn't make photos to get a BB. But now I did. So next time someone else knits/crochets a dishcloth I can approve the BB ;-)

The material is black cotton that was a child's sweater which I 'frogged'

you can't read the label, but it says this is 100% cotton

About halfway. This is 10 inches, and I went on increasing a little more and then decreasing. That's the way I do dishcloths.

I’m a knitter. Every once in awhile, I try doing something in crochet, just to remind myself why I’m a knitter. Alas, this BB is one such endeavor, in Tunisian crochet. Holy Hera, this is an ugly item, but I suppose it will clean dishes as well as a pretty one.

I crocheted a dishcloth with 100% cotton using a size H-8 hook. I don't have the label for the cone anymore, but this is the brand: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JPBVAMC?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_ZT5RZA3FRE4SM9C17HS0

The stitch is double crochet with a border of single crochet to clean up the edges. I added a small loop for hang drying in the corner when I made the border.

My Grandma had a hard time teaching knitting to me when I was little, but now I understand it well and think of her when I pick up my knitting needles. A simple dishcloth is fun to make and feels good in the hands once it is completed. I like the larger cloths so this was very enjoyable!

I had some cotton cordage that I had on hand and seeing I didn't have 100% cotton yarn, I used it. I made a sort of border with a yarn over and a double stitch at the beginning of each row. It didn't turn out as even as I might have wanted, but it will do fine.

I have LOTS of kitchen towels, but they end up getting grabbed and used for various jobs (cleaning spills, wiping counter, make shift hot pad...etc) I am never sure if the towel at hand is clean. I wanted one set aside, hung on the stove where it would only be used for drying my clean hands. Hopefully reduces the number of towels tosssd in the hamper. So here it is!

Pattern is "wavy kitchen towel", free from hobbi.com. I used hobbii rainbow cotton 8/4 yarn.

I added a few extra rows at the end and straps to hang over oven handle. Added a couple of buttons for securing in place. It's a nice little pop of color in the kitchen. Finished size is about 12x12in.

I found some yarn in my wife's stash that she allowed me to use for this BB.  The dishcloth is of a cotton yarn crocheted sloppily (because I am not good at crochet! haha) into a ten inch square on a size 4.5mm hook.  Thank you and enjoy!

The hot pad bb says no cotton so I hope it's ok to post these here. For a fist time crocheting they don't look bad. Nothing like my mom makes (background) but not bad. I have this gaint pile of old jeans I need to get rid of. This is whats not isntt useable for quilting.

I used a corner to corner moss stitch from this tutorial because I knew that it would be very easy to know it was the right size. https://www.cookiesnobcrochet.com/home/c2c-moss-stitch-tutorial

I use 100% cotton and didn't like the gauge with an H hook so used a G as pictured. Final was slightly bigger than 10x10.

I am an experienced "hooker" :) and I prefer my dishcloths about 8x8. I had the white someone had gifted me, I may dye it later, but I would prefer to use a variegated yarn on a dishcloth so that stains won't be so obvious. In the first picture I wasn't following directions properly, so it wasn't giving me a 90 degree corner. I pulled that out and tried again. This was a very easy pattern to follow, I would strongly recommend it to a beginner.

This is my first BB, making a dishcloth seemed like the easiest item to check off cause I make them pretty regularly. Not usually this big though! I used upcycled cotton weaving yarn that I wound together to make a thicker yarn for knitting. The dishcloth knitting pattern is free on ravelry called grandmothers favourite dishcloth.

Crochet basket weave dishcloth, went with a slightly more advanced pattern since I was working with a larger hook, it's very humid here most of the year and a dence single crochet would never dry and therefore rot!! Should be scrubby as well from the post stitches! This is my very first BB ever. Hoping to get more going soon!

Knitted this dishcloth out of some cotton yarn from my stash, label long since vanished. 3 mm circular needles as they were what was to hand. I've made dishcloths before, but smaller than this 10" square seems almost teatowel ish size.

I crocheted a dishcloth with a 5.5 m hook. For the yarn, I used Loops & Threads off white cotton yarn and Sugar & Cream blue cotton yarn.

Basically the pattern is alternating between a half double crochet and a slip stitch. I ended up following a Youtube video instead of the pattern in the first picture.

Measurement is about 10" by 12" or a little bit more than that.
