I prefer citric acid to ACV for cleaning. It's fantastic at removing limescale, so gets used on tiles, sinks, toilet bowls and around taps. It's my general go to cleaner for bathrooms and kitchen. I mixed 60g with 500ml of hot water in a beaker, then poured into a glass spray bottle.

I mixed up some half-and-half vinegar and water and added a little glug of orange oil. I ended up using this orange flavoring product we had in the pantry for baked goods, rather than the wildly cheaper orange oil we had in the closet of the laundry room meant as a wood-cleaner because the latter had don-not-eat warnings. I wonder though if that's just a matter of concentration...would it be fine to eat once I mixed a teaspoon of it into this mister? Or maybe the emulsifiers aren't food-safe. Oh! The emulsifier comment reminds me, I do have the shake the heck out of this stuff before using or the orange oil will just sit at the top and not get sprayed out.

I made a cleaner to use in the "Clean the Bathroom" BB. This cleaner used the juice of 1.5 limes (leftover from dinner) and about 50/50 vinegar and water.

I added a warning to the bottle not to use it on natural stone surfaces. Acid-based cleaners can etch stone surfaces. I wanted to put that out there for anyone looking at this thread for cleaner-making inspiration. Otherwise, acid cleaners are great all-purpose cleaners for non-porous surfaces.

I use a citrus infused vinegar for most of my cleaning, made from scraps of whatever citrus I've been using.

I'm marinating some chicken thighs today so this batch is made with orange and lime scraps. I've also included a picture of a finished batch I decanted into a reused spray bottle for ease of use.

I made the citrus vinegar concentrate from the book The Hands-On Home.

I mixed white vinegar, citrus peels, and mint in a glass jar for 2 weeks. Then filled the spray bottle with 1:1 mix of the vinegar/water.

Had been using this bottle of white vinegar for cleaning mold and found out my spray nozzle fits on the top!

Mixed ~16 oz white vinegar, ~4 oz lemon juice, and ~4 oz water. Label says “General Cleaner vinegar + lemon juice.”

I grabbed some citric acid and baking soda and put them in easier containers to access....
I put the baking soda in a premade jar with holes in the lid so as to make it easy to shake.
I measured out citric acid and mixed it with water ( missed picture with me adding water ) and dropped it into a sprayer bottle that had already been converted to a citric acid solution carrier.

I made an all-purpose household surface cleaning spray! Because the ingredients are all potable (in moderate quantities) it is suitable for food-contact surfaces as well as bathrooms and general living areas. I would usually add tea tree and peppermint essential oils, but as they might not be strictly edible (or necessary) I left them out for the purpose of the badge bit.

Recipe: 2 parts water, 1 part 190 proof alcohol, 1 part distilled white vinegar.

I made a cleaner from water and citric acid. (Hard water stain in the tub, I'm coming for you!) I had to explain to my kids that while it's edible, it's probably not palatable
